Hi, I'm Aaron Bourget this year I went on the 7th grade Cape Cod trip. I made this memory book to share the great memories of my Cape Cod experience with my family and friends.
This picture is at our first stop, Captain Johns boat. In this picture I was wrist deep in fake whale blubber. | The pictures above take place at Herrings Run, the top picture is me and my friend Eric standing in front of the miniature waterfalls. The picture below is Daniel, Riley and me sitting on the dam at the top of Herrings Run.
At our stop at Herrings Run the Cape Cod Crusaders took the time to log a journal entry. I would like to share mine with you. Herrings Run Aaron Bourget Cape Cod 5/25/11 The sun glimmers on the cool running water. I sit on a rock surrounded by nature, watching the occasional seagull dive into the water for a Herring. I smell the calming freshness. I taste the aroma of the flowers. I hear the rushing of the water as I sit on my rock with the bright sun beating down on my back. Herrings Run was truly wonderful.
Tommy very happily shows of his winnings. | Daniel plays ski ball with tremendous concentration. | Wesley and I race neck and neck, both of us trying to ram each other.
The last activity of our first day was Bass River Sports World where all the 7th graders enjoyed the arcade, mini golf, driving range and of course great ice cream. | End Of Day 1
Our first activity of day 2 was the Great Island hike, which eventually brought us to the Cape Cod National Seashore. Once we arrived, we stopped and relaxed as you can see above.
On the Great Island hike we saw many forms of wildlife some of it alive most of it dead, as you can see above. | A few stops later we went to Marconi Station. Our group also took the time to log another journal entry. I would like to share mine with you.
Aaron Bourget Cape Cod 5/26/11 I smell the aroma of the air and feel the occasional cool refreshing sea breeze blowing across the beach. I hear the peaceful sound of waves crashing upon the beach. I see the seagulls flying above. I taste the freshness of the salt water. as I sit next to my friends not saying a word, just admiring the true beauty of the ocean. | After our group ate lunch we headed to explore the Tidal Flats and search for organisms we had studied in science prior to the trip. | Before we begin exploring Mr. Dixson sets some ground rules.
Ani looks down at the camera from the top of the jetty . | Ani, Jacob and Matt look up at the ominous skies praying for it not to rain.
Cape Cod Crusaders at the Sand Dunes. | The final meeting place for all the 7th graders was at Sandwich Beach where we got our last taste of the Cape before we headed back to Wayland.
Journal logs | Cedar swamp Aaron Bourget 5/27/11 I slowly and silently walk through the swamp hearing nothing but the buzzing of bugs. All I can see are trees and still water everywhere I look. I taste the revolting flavor of bug spray. I feel the occasional bug landing on my shoulder, trying to take a bite of my flesh before I swat it away. Cape Cod A Haiku By Aaron Bourget The beauty you'll not believe There is so much to be explored you'll never want to leave.
