S: Cell Middle School

FC: 1838 - 1839 | Cell Middle School

Cell Middle School | "Let us realize that the privilege to learn is a gift, that power to learn is a blessing, that love of learning is success. - David O. McKay | Looking back at 1838...

 Cell Membrane | centriole | cilia | cytoskelton | flagellum | golgi apparatus | lysososme | microtubules | mitochondria | nucleolus | nucleus | ribosome | rough ER | smooth ER | Transport protein

Miss. Eukaryote | Ms. Animal | Mission Statement 1. all known living things are made up of cells. 2. the cell is structural & functional unit of all living things. 3. all cells come from pre-existing cells by division. (Spontaneous Generation does not occur).

 cell membrane | cell wall | cilia | chloroplast | cytoskelton | flagellum | golgi apparatus | microtubules | mitochondria | nucleolus | nucleus | ribosome | rough ER | smooth ER | transport protein | vacuole

Mr.Plant | Miss Eukaryote | Mission Statement 1.cells contain hereditary information which is passed from cell to cell during cell division 2.all cells are basically the same in chemical composition 3.all energy of life occurs within cells

MOST LIKELY TO HOLD UP UNDER THE PRESSURE: CYTOSKELTON!!! the cytoskelton provides structure and interior framework | SUPERLATIVES | MOST LIKELY TO BE IN CHARGE: NUCLEUS!!!! the nucleus controls the cell | MOST LIKELY TO MOVE TO OTHER PLACES: CILIA!!!! the cilia helps the cell to move | MOST LIKEY TO WORK AT A POWER PLANT: MITOCHONDRIA!!! The mitochondria convert energy into forms the cell can use.

MOST LIKELY TO WORK IN A PACKAGEING PLANT; GOLGI APPARATUS!!! the golgi apparatus modifies, sorts, and packages proteins | MOST LIKELY TO WORK IN A STORE: SMOOTH ER!!! The smooth ER creates and stores steroids | MOST LIKELY TO GO GREEN: CHLOROPLAST!!! The chloroplast supplies energy to plant cells. | MOST SUPPORTIVE: CELL WALL!!!! The cell wall provides structure to plant cells | MOST PROTECTIVE: CELL MEMBRANE!!! The cell membrane protects the inside of the cell from the outside. | MOST CREATIVE: NUCLEOLUS!!! The nucleolus creates ribosomes and RNA.

Field trip to the Cell Membrane

We decided to take some of our students to the Cell Membrane on a field trip. We want to teach the student the functions of the Cell Membrane. | "I learned that the Cell Membrane acts as a boundary layer to contain the Cytoplasm." -Mitochondria | "I learned that the interlocking surfaces in the Cell Membrane bind cells together." -Ribosome | "I learned that the Cell Membrane is made up of lipids." -Rough ER | "I learned that the Cell Membrane controls what comes in and out of a cell." -Nucleus

Rudolf Virchow | Theodor Schwann | Matthias Schleiden | Staff

Robert Hooke - Principal | "All of us founded this school. I just started the trend. Rudolf came up with what we call the Cell School Theory. Matthias Came up with the Cell School Theory for Plant Cells. Theodor added on to that theory and made the Cell School Theory For Animal Cells. All of us worked off of each others information and made a fantastic school." -Robert Hooke

Staying cool is one of our main priorities. We also receive our daily nutrients.

We Always try to maintain our Homeostasis. | PE

Our debate team won regionals this year for their debate on the difference between plant and animal cells!! Congratulations!! They also went on to win nationals with their debate on the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells!! Great Job!!!!!!!!! | Debate Team | "The difference was easy to find one we got thinking," says debate team captain, Cilia,"there is a lot of difference between plant and animal cells. For starters, plant cells are for plants and animal cells are for animals. Animal cells have centriole and lysosomes and plant cells have a vacuole, cell wall, and chloroplast. That is the difference between plant and animal organelles.

The difference between prokayotic and eukaryotic cells was a very fun debate. First, prokayotic cells dont have nucleus and eukayotic cells have a nucleus. Everything on earth is made of eukaryotic cells except for bacteria which are made of prokaryotic cells. | Debate Team
