FC: Civil War Telegraphs

1: Lincoln used this to give direct orders to his generals in the field. | The telegraph was used mostly by the Union as a major weapon. It was so major because the Confederacy couldn't use them for they didn't have any telegraph lines.

3: The telegraph played a big role in the Norths success in the war. Because Lincoln could send information directly to his commanding Generals.

5: What did the telegraph do during the Civil War? The telegraph played a big role in the North, so Lincoln cold rely important information to his commanding generals

7: How large of a part did the telegraph have on the Civil War? The telegraph had a big part in the north winning the war because of the incredible communication abilities.

9: Who benefited from the telegraph during the war? Who did not benefit from the the telegraph? The Union benefited because they could communicate fast, the Confederacy didn't benefit because their communication was slow, because the did not have the major telegraph lines that the Union did.

11: What if the telegraph would have never been around during the war? If the telegraph wasn't around during this time the north would not have been able to send info quickly and they might not have won the war.

13: Would life have been different during the Civil War without the telegraph? If the Union did not have the Confederacy might have won and slavery would have prevailed.

15: Is the telegraph still around today? Why or Why not? No because the invention of the telephone beat out the telegraph, for the best means of communication. Then that was beat by the cell phone.
