1: Essential question | Why computer networks are so important in modern society? | Computer networks in a modern society are used almost everywhere and we don't notice them. Everyplace that there is Internet it is considered a computer network. We use Internet with mobile phones so we almost use Internet everywhere.
2: Network client | Th student is the network client because he is using a computer to print his edline report in the library.
3: Node | The node is a device used in the computer network. In this case the node is the computer and the printer
4: N.I.C. | Network interference card | The NIC makes the data from the computer exit the computer. In this case the students data leaves the computer through the NIC.
5: UTP cables | The UTP cable gives signal to the computer. In the case of the boy it gives the signal to the computer so he can enter edline then print the report.
6: Computer network switch | The computer network switch receives all the UTP cables and takes them to the SITE with one cable. This helps the student reach files and print the report.
7: Optic cable | The optic cable takes all the cables it receives from the switch to the SITE to access files and so the student can print.
8: SITE | The optic cable reaches here the SITE is usually in the center to spread everything easier. From here you can go to the WWW (world wide web) . The SITE is like the center of control because the proxy, router and firewall are here.
9: Proxy server | The proxy server make the Internet go faster and it is also for refusing some domain adresses
10: Router | The router is in the SITE and this device sends information to the LAN and WAN
11: WAN | Wireless area network | The wireless area network is the WWW. The student comes here to see the report.
12: web server | The web server gives the client what he was asking for in this case is the report of edline
13: Printer server | The printer server is were the printers are connected. the students request from the library goes to the copy center and prints .
