1: g | The 1st Continental Congress was a convention that took place at Carpenters Hall. The 1st Congress addressed the Intolerable Acts.
2: The Intolerable Acts were laws passed by British Parliament to the colonies. | These Acts further angered the colonists
3: The convention put together a petition and sent it to king George.The petition was against the intolerable act and its injustices.They agreed that if the king did not reply they would come back and start the 2nd Continental Congress.
4: In The 2nd Continental Congress they discussed the forming of a militia, and how every colony should form one.
5: forming the militia were minutemen. Minutemen were a special unit of soldiers that were ready to respond to any threats during the war.

9: George Washington-Named commander of the Colonial Army. Throughout the war he led the Colonial army to many strategic battles. Latter he earned his mens respect by guiding them in the front lines of battles.
11: British general who lost the army and was forced to surrender his troops to Washington. This ended the Revolutionary War. Many don t realize that even after the war Cornwallis was still highly respected in England and was even governor of India at one point.
13: Thomas Jefferson-Member of the Continental Army who wrote the Declaration of Independence.
15: Colonist from Va who gave the famous speech "Give me Liberty or give me death" that encouraged many colonists to joint the fight against the British.
