FC: The Six Elements of Geography!
1: The World in Spacial Terms. | "Spatial Relations" (how people relate to where they are) Absolute Location: Where exact a place is on earth. Ex: Owensboro Kentucky is located around 88 degrees West and 37 degrees North | Chapter One
2: Relative location: Where a place is compered to where another place is. Ex: Kentucky is located north of Tennessee and South of Indiana | Relative Location
3: A place on earth that has both human and physical meaning is just a PLACE. Ex: Your School! | PLACES!
4: Pl | Regions | A REGION is bigger than a place. It is made up of many places that are alike in some way. | There are 3 different types of regions. formal region functional region perceptual region
5: Physical Systems | Hurricanes | Physical Systems shape the Earth's surface.
6: Volcanoes | More Physical Systems
7: floods | More Physical Systems!
8: Human Systems
9: Geographers look at how people effect th world. They look at how they settle the earth, how they form societies and create physical features.
10: Environment and Society! | Environment And Society! | Some things that can change the Earth are clearing or planting forests, building and or extending cities, and hunting animals etc.
11: The physical features of Earth effects the society. Features such as mountains, rivers, hills, plateaus, and plains depend on where people will settle. These things effect migration.
12: The Uses of | Geographers give important information about the world's physical features
13: Geography! | Geographers also process the plant's physical needs and of the living things on earth to plan for future needs of the Earth and the human beings that live here
