Introduction: For almost a year now, I've been working as a School Library Consultant for the Idaho Commission for Libraries. I've taught kindergarten, first grade, and middle school reading, keyboarding, and information literacy. In my new job, I have the opportunity to present new technology tools to school, public, and academic librarians around Idaho. | I loved the seven years that I was a teacher-librarian in the Melba School District in Melba, Idaho finding engaging ways to integrate technology through the school library. For fun, I enjoy outdoor photography and traveling with my two daughters since my husband and two sons like to stay close to home! I've included photographs from my last big trip to Africa in 2009.

Three things I'd like from this class: - new tools to engage students in their own learning through the school library - the experience of sharing new ideas and collaborating with others interested in using technology to provide students with the opportunity for a 21st century education - add Project Based Learning (PBL) to my "teaching toolbox"
Gori | Gorilla trekking in Rwanda!
Three things I can offer the class: - my enthusiasm & lack of fear to experiment and try new technology tools (no fear of Mountain Gorillas either) - years of teaching experience with students K-12 - my determination to provide equal access to resources and information (eager to share information & resources with classmates)

Currently, I'm collaborating with a public librarian on a presentation encouraging librarians to develop a Personal Learning Network (PLN). We present at the Idaho Library Association annual conference in October 2011.
Happy & Sad News: On May 24, 2011, my husband, two sons, and our family dog escaped our burning home. We are all very thankful and very lucky. Although, only the second story burned, do to severe smoke damage, we are living in a hotel while looking for a rental for the 4-6 month rebuilding process. Thanks to cloud computing, I only needed to replace my laptop and Dreamweaver CS5 software. I'm sure there is something else I'll miss in prepare for this new class. If I seem distracted please forgive me, I still get emotional at what I almost lost and am dealing with missing the less important but convenient material things I did lose. Thanks, Glynda
