 Chapter 1: Summary

In this book, a 12 year-old Cuban boy finds his true calling; playing baseball. He even helps arrest a purse-stealer because of his great arm. In fact, he has so much talent that people begin to question whether or not he's who he says he is. A painful family past causes Micheal to hide from "Official Persons" and fight to do what he loves!

 Chapter 2: Characters

Caught for an out! | We did it! | Manny is Micheal's best friend who is a happy and talkative person. He always knows how to cheer Micheal up and is there for him in times of need. | Manny

Strike! | Micheal | Micheal is an unbelievable pitcher who had a subtle, quiet personality and is a fanatic Yankees fan!

Girls Rule! | Ellie is a secretive and really nice person who has a big surprise for Micheal towards the end of the story. | E L L I E

Little Mouse! | Carlos | Carlos is Micheal's older brother who works 2 jobs to pay the bills, or so Micheal thinks.

Ms. C | Ms. C is Micheal and Carlos' guardian who does her best to take care of them.

 Chapter 3 Critique

Outstanding | Amazing | I loved this book because it was very detailed and had a lot of interesting twists. Just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, the story changed and left you amazed that you were wrong. The only thing I didn't like was that there were some moments in the book when it was really boring and uneventful. At those times you just wanted to read on and get to the good part.
