FC: By:Kwadir Walker | Mario Luigi to Ellis Island

1: Before our arrival | It was the summer of 1892, when I was a young boy.I was about third teen or four teen and my name is Mario Luigi. My family was planning to live in America for new opportunities.Epically since Italy was a poor non-wealthy country at the time. Also the laws was unfair to all of citizens of Italy .It was me, my uncle Sam, mom, sister, brother, and grandma leaving to go to America. Before leaving we packed suit cases. We packed clothes for every condition snow, summer, etc since it was gone to be a long trip on the ship. A week later my family was ready to arrive at shore to get in the steam boats. As soon as I got on the deck of the ship I looked at my old land then turn head forward looking at what lies before me on my soon to be home.It was the summer of 1892, when I was a young boy.I was about third teen or four teen and my name is Mario Luigi. 2: On The Ship | As soon I got on the ship one of the captain assisting help us to our room that we were staying in.The room was a stinky small tight area too small for over three people. I don't I could stay there for one week without going crazy. The second day we stayed there, out of where heard a loud ‘’DANG DANG DANG!’’ It was the bell telling us it was breakfast time.Thousands of people came of there little cabin crowding the tight hallway trying to get something to eat. As we arrive to the dinner table the first thing I notice how big and long the tables . Also there were a awful lot of people at breakfast table. There were way more people than I expected. We struggle to find a seat to sit at the dinning table.Since it was crowed it was hard to find a seat since most of the filled. There were unusually food that our family was unfamiliar. Like pancakes, eggs, and some type of bread that was toasted. This was the first time we where ever introduced to this kind of food. I cut food with my knife then picked it up with my fork. When I put the piece of pancake it was the most amazing thing I ever ate. It was like piece of heaven in my mouth. After breakfast we went back to our room. Three months into our trip there was a hug thunder storm with waves the size to flip our boat. But luckily it didn't.With our captain and passenger unconscious our ship was left floating on the ocean. The next day a man scream ‘’I see land’’, waking up every passenger on deck (almost every passenger). We all stare at the land in dis belief because it was to good to be true.

3: Arriving to Ellis Island | When I first arrived at Ellis Island I thought there won't ever have an other experience like this. But on the down side our family had to split up but we would all meet back up in the kissing post .The first test or exam we had to take was a physical exam. That took a short period of time not including the long lines. After claiming our baggage on the ground floor of Ellis Island potential we had to carry our bags up the "great staircase" to the second floor where the medical exams were performed. This was done intentionally anyone who appeared to have trouble climbing the steps drew the attention of the doctors. After our medical exam we had to stay in a long for about three hours. Then we asked question we had to answer twenty nine before entering America. Each question had to with your name, destinations, amount of money, occupation, etc. After going through all the pother steps our family meet at the kissing post. We hug each other show excitement and joy since it felt like we will never see each other again. It was such a relief seeing my family again it took so much stress off me. But we wasn't done yet. We had to exchange our money for US dollars. Then we were off to America as a citizen of a new country of opportunity and beginnings
