Here is and image of the life cycle of a butterfly!

The first stage in the cycle is the egg. If you look really close you can actually see the baby caterpillar growing! You usually find these on leaves.

The next stage in the butterfly life cycle is the larva, or the caterpillar. In this stage all the caterpillars like to do is eat.

The third stage in the butterfly life cycle is the pupa, or chrysalis. The caterpillar forms a pupa around itself and grows into a butterfly.

The final stage is the adult butterfly. This is where they learn to fly and reproduce to start the cycle over again.
