3: Lords | The castle was home to the lord. Kings and great lords, who had several castles and houses, would appoint officials called a castellan to run the castle in their absence. A personal item a lord would usually have is his own cutlery, which might be kept in a leather case. Greyhounds were valued hunting companions. The kings or lords were sacred.
4: The most important women in the castle was the lady, or wife of the lord. High-ranking women had their own ladies-in-waiting to attend them, and there were also female servants. Women of all classes learned how to spin, weave, and sew. Some ladies of rank were skilled at embroidering in gold and silver threads. | Ladies
5: The Children | At about the age of 7 the boy would be sent to a castle, often a relative, to become a man with great power. After 7 years he would begin to train. He might even become knighted at age 21. A girl would also be sent to the castle. She would have to be taught how to sew, homemake things, also how to behave correctly. Most importantly in front of a gentlemen.

The ladies had many responsibilities too. They were responsible for raising and training their own children. They were also cooks, servants, artists, craftspeople, and grooms.

The outer wear would have bagpipe sleeves, a belt carrying a purse, a velvet gown, and a woolen hose. Also to put the outfit together the man would where pointed leather shoes.

The outfit would also have a sideless surcoat. The shoes the ladies would wear were hard sole shoes. They had a wooden bottom with straps.
11: What you wore depended on who you were in medieval times. If you were rich you would probably have a variety of clothes, in the latest styles and colors. If you were a poor peasant you would own maybe one tunic. Although it was possible to obtain skills and other luxurious materials from abroad, they were very expensive. Most clothing therefore was made out of wool. This meant clothing in the medieval period was itchy, difficult to wash and dry, and very hot in the summer. | Overview on What Everybody Wore:
