2: If you think to go in a vacation think again. Come to Cancun, Mexico. Beautiful beaches, and lots of things that you and your family can do. Besides that the Ruins of Tulum is an hour away from Cancun that you can visit. A unique and beautiful experience.
4: The Mayan People. The Mayan people where around the 10th century A.D. and extended throughout southern Mexico and northern Central America. Linguistic evidence says that the Mayan people didn't even speak all the same language, but all of them where related to each other. | Physical Setting The territory occupied by the Maya where of 3 main ares. The highlands where today is southern of Guatemala. This area was particularly used for farming, sometimes it wasn't consider part of the true Maya Territory. The central area of Guatemala, the lowlands, this are was the most populous and develop area of the Maya civilization. The Yucatán Peninsula, which was also lowlands: this area was a source of salt, honey, cotton fabrics, slaves, and other specialized goods for other parts of the Maya region. After the abandonment of the Maya cities in the central area, this area became the principal site of a cultural blend known as the Toltec-Maya.
5: Religion The Mayan didn't only believe in one God, they believe in many Gods. Like God of the Sun, God of Earth, God of Thunder who would give them rain.
6: Mayan Cultural Accomplishments | One of the Mayan Cultural accomplishments was to produced their cultural achievements in isolation. Also trade helped allot the economy and to bring things from other places that they didn't have. They also created the calendar to keep track of things and to tell what somethings happen in the future.
7: Abandonment of the Maya Cities | From about 800 to 925, the Maya abandoned the great cities of the central Maya area. The great days of the Maya civilization were largely over. Archaeologists have advanced a variety of theories to explain what happened to the Maya civilization. A combination of factors that could have played a role include warfare between the Maya states, overpopulation and exhaustion of environmental resources, and drought.
