Entry 1 | Hey, I’m Moose Flanagan and I love baseball. I had to move to a cement rock in the middle of San Fransisco Bay. I’m in 7th grade and taller than my dad and as tall as my mom. My family is dad, mom,Natalie, and me. My sister, Natalie, has autism and is going to this new school named Ester P, Marinoff for kids who have disabilities like my sister. Mom is a piano teacher and dad is an electrician and a guard, which is the reason why we moved here. The cons do our laundry. If you want cooking done the cons will cook your dinner too. On the island, there are a few other kids and moms and dads, but the main population are the cons. We even have Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly and a bunch of other bad people here on Alcatraz.

Entry 2 | "But mom, come on, please please please. Why did you have to change piano lessons to Tuesday? Scout moved baseball to Tuesday. That’s my only day to play ball." "Could you play at lunch?" "No mom, he already moved it to Tuesday and that is alot to ask." "Moose, honey, we need the money." Uggh. Now I have to watch Natalie every day. I just want one day to myself to play ball. The next day Scout asks why I didn’t bring my glove and says it’s ok to borrow his. The words choke up in my throat, "Scout," I say, "I can’t play today or any Tuesday. Could we play at lunch?"

Entry 3 | "Do I have to dad ?" "Yes, Moose, you have to go see the warden, today." In the beginning of the book Moose had to go see the warden because on the Flanagan's door, to their apartment, was a note telling Moose to come to his house. The whole time Moose is worried what the warden is going to do to him. When he is walking to the warden's house, Moose had to walk by the cell house. While walking Moose wonders how do so many cons make no noise. Once he gets to the warden's house, all the warden had to do is tell him Alcatraz's rules. After that Moose was really relieved.

Entry 4 | I can’t believe that Natalie is going to her new school today. I feel like we just got here yesterday and she’s already leaving. "Do you think that people will notice how old she is?" "People might, Moose, but just keep quiet about her age." On the boat ride, Natalie curls up into a tight little ball and doesn’t budge but Moose always has a plan. He grabs this bird book and starts reading off the different birds on the wrong page and he does get Natalie off of the boat. But once Natalie is at the school for two nights the head master calls Moose’s parents to come get Natalie because she is not mature enough. Now since Natalie is back home Moose has to watch Natalie every day now. Then at school Scout asks Moose to get him a convict ball. When Moose starts looking for the ball he leaves Natalie by her self for a few minutes and then a con finds her . What will happen to Natalie and Moose now?

 Al Capone

In the end Moose asks the warden if he can use Al Capone to call Natalie’s old school and have them let her in. But the warden says no then Piper comes up with an idea. The idea is to send Al Capone a letter asking him to call Natalie’s school. Piper puts the letter in the filed mail for Al Capone. After Al Capone gets it, he actually calls the school. The head master did let her in and he started a new program for older students and let Natalie be he first student. Plus, it was the end of the school for Moose so he now gets more time to himself because Natalie goes to a boarding school. Then the mom and dad have more time to them selves. | Entry 5

Entry 6 | If I could meet Moose I would ask him if living on Alcatraz is fun and if you get to roam around the island? Then if he ever got to meet Al Capone himself or any of the other cons? Or if the boat ride to San Fransisco was long and if the boat was a cruise boat or a regular tug boat? Then, do you like having a sister with autism? Is it annoying to have a sister with autism? I would ask Moose if he can show me around the island and the guard tower. That includes his apartment.I would ask him if he likes living on Alcatraz with his mom and dad and if he has any friends on the island.
