1: Okonkwo is the main character. He is determined to be the opposite of his father. He loves labor and hates being weak. He has three wives and several children. He picks favorites from his children and is not always fair to his wives. He is like a turtle because he has a hard, outer shell, but a secret, soft inside.
2: Okonkwo had a rough start to his life. His childhood was filled with poverty. | Okonkwo put the "cat on his back". No one had ever been able to do this. 3: Okonkwo's gun accidently explodes and it kills a sacred villager's son. He is then exiled for 7 years. | His daughter becomes ill and she is taken to talk to the gods.
