2: A | Arliss
3: Arliss was Travis's little brother. He was very bad, and got into Lots of things. He also liked throwing rocks.
4: B | Bull
5: There were bulls in this story. One bull had hydrophobia. Travis had to shoot that bull before it hurted anyone.
6: C | Cows
7: There were cows in this story. One cow had hydrophobia. The cow was acting very crazy and wouldn't feed his calf.
8: D | Deer
9: Travis had to hunt for things throughout the story. One thing he had to hunt for was a deer. He did this so the family would have something to eat.
10: E | Enemies
11: There were lots of enemies in this book. There were enemies between bulls and other animals. The animals would bite each other and make them have rabies.
12: F | Fire
13: For all the dead animals, Mother and Travis had to had to burn them with fire. There where buzzards flying around. Mother and Travis didn't want the birds to eat the dead animals.
14: G | Fred Gipson
15: Fred Gipson secured his place as one of the finest novelists in America. His books include both fiction and nonfiction. He grew up in Texas hill country and died in 1973.
16: H | Hydrophobia
17: Old Yeller end up catching hydrophobia because a wolf bit him. Lots of other animals caught it also. Each animal that caught it got shot.
18: I | Indians
19: Indians were mentioned a couple of times in this story. | They were like the bad people of birdsong creek. They thought they could boss everybody around.
20: J | Jumper
21: Jumper was a mule. He would always help the family and give them a ride. He also helped Old Yeller when he got hurt.
22: K | Kill
23: Travis had to kill wild animals. He had to shoot them because of hydrophobia. Old Yeller was one of them.
24: L | Lisbeth
25: Lisbeth was the daughter of Bud Searcy. She also had a little crush on Travis. She would always tell Travis about Miss Prissy.
26: M | Mother
27: In this book mother was always there for Travis, Arliss, and Old Yeller. Mother helped Old Yeller and Travis when they both got injured. She also got on to Arliss for every bad thing he did.
28: N | Nature
29: In Old Yeller, the book had a lot to do with nature, animals, and trees. There where lots of animals in this book. Most of the animals would climb the trees.
30: O | Old Yeller
31: Old Yeller was a very special dog to the family. He always had there back, and he pretty much took care of any wild animal that would come after them. He helped Arliss when he was getting attacked by a bear.
32: P | Pigs
33: There were pigs in this story. The pigs were all missing, so Travis had to mark them by the ear as they came in the cabin. He did this so he'll know which ones were found. The pigs were very sweet.
34: Q | Quiver
35: When Travis heard Arliss scream because of the bear, he quivered. Then Arliss knew he was in trouble. The bear attacked him for messing with its cub.
36: R | Rocks
37: Every time Arliss got mad he would throw rocks. The reason he would throw rocks is because the family was messing with Old Yeller. He also threw rocks for them messing with the pups.
38: S | Steal
39: In this book Old Yeller use to steal food. That is the reason why Travis didn't like him at first. Then Yeller started to be helpful.
40: Travis | T
41: Travis and Old Yeller had a close bond. At first Travis didn't like Yeller, he thought he was just a meat stealing dog. Travis ended up having a even closer bond once Yeller saved his brother while he was getting attacked.
42: U | Unusual
43: There were unusual things in this book. One of them was the big buzzards. Buzzards are huge birds that like to eat. They tried to eat Yeller while he was wounded.
44: V | Virus
45: There was a virus going around in this story. The virus was rabies, and each animal that caught it ended up getting shot. Yeller caught this virus.
46: W | Wolf
47: Old Yeller got into a fight with an angry wolf. The wolf bit Old Yeller, which caused him to have rabies. Eventually, Old Yeller had to get shot.
48: X | Xciting
49: There were exciting things in this story. One thing was when Old Yeller and Miss Prissy had their pups. Lisbeth and Arliss were very happy, but Travis didn't care much.
50: Y | Young
51: There was two young boys in this story, Travis and Arliss. They were both brothers. Arliss would always get into things, and Travis would just let him get away with it.
52: Z | Zippy
53: The whole family in Old Yeller was zippy. Zippy means to be lively. Old Yeller was always zippy, because he would always help the family.
