1: RELIGION | 96% of Pkaistans are muslim. 77% Sunni. Shi'a 20%. Christian, Hindu and other 3%. These are the small non-muslim.Christians are the biggest minority group in Pakistan.they are distributed throughout the sub-continent.Churches of every denomination are throught the Pakistan cities.It has the second largest muslim population in the world. Islam learns with the Koran. People who study Islam are Muslim. the muslim community will attend a church like mosque. This is where they worship every single day. The christian book is the bible.

2: GENDER ROLES | The elderly often live iwth their children and are treated with great respect. Strong traditions and values influence women's status in the family and in the community. these affect oppurtunities for education and for work, espicially for less priveleged women. Women are responsible for maintaining the the family honor. People consider a woman and her family to be shameless if no restrictions are placed on her mobility. Women are subordinate to men. 3: Ethnicity Pakistan had an estimated 169 million inhabitants in 2007. During 1951-1998, Pakistan's population expanded sevenfold. There are many ethnic groups in Pakistan such as Punjabis, Kashmiris, Sindhis, Iranians, Persians, Afghanis, and Muhajirs. Religions in Pakistan include Muslim, Sunni, Shi'i, Sunni Muslims, Shi'a Muslims, Christianity, Judaism, and Hiduism.

4: Clothing!!! Salwar Kemeez. long loose trousers topped with a long loose skirt. :The Salwar Kemeez originates from Muslim invaders (that is why it is commonly known as Muslim dress) Most salwars are worn with a narrow scarf called a "dupatta" it can be worn over the head or drapped over the shoulders. It is very common across India. Men's clothing The most common worn clothing in Pakistan is the dhoti and the kurta. A Sherwani is worn for special occassions. Some men wear the salwar kemeez (in white cotton and is worn with a dark waistcoat). 5: Clothing!!! Sari Girls(age of 5-7) wear long skirts and a short blouse on top of it. Teenage Girls-Wear half Sarees/long skirt and half blouse with a stole wrapped over it like a saree Adults-prefer sarees. (Many women wear them after their wedding)

6: They have textiles, chemicals, food processing are just some of the many industries in Pakistan. It is the twenty third largest economy in the world. In pakistan people are usually fired and then more people are hired. This is why there is such a highunemployment percentage. Many people work with Agriculture in Pakistan. It is an economic importnace. Pakistan is the fourty first factory output in the world. | JOBS | Wedding Traditions in Pakistan! Traditions in Pakistan. Weddings~in Pakistan, people tend to have four day weddings. First Day~on the first day the two families dress in yellow and celebrate the wedding;the couple will not see each other from this day on, until the ceromony. Second Day~ on the second day, the two families have a large celebration and sing ancient songs. The grooms family will deliver the brides wedding dress, and the brides family will deliver the groom's attire. The bride's family will string hundreds of lights around their home to symbolise the marriage of their daughter. The bride will also have her hands and feet stained in henna. After this is done the bride will be waited on for the rest of the night while the henna dries

8: Third Day~ The wedding ceremony takes place on the third day. the bride and groom dress in red and the brides dress is normaly very elaborate as is her veil and jewelry. After the ceremony the Hold Koran will be held over the bride's head as she joins the groom's family. the documents are signed during the ceremony with a priest present. | Fourth Day~ on the fourth day the new couple hosts their first dinner party together as husband and wife. The grooms family will host the party at their house

9: Geography of Pakistan! Pakistan lies in the western part of the Indian Subcontinent. Afghanistan and Iran on the left and India is on the east side of Pakistan and the Arabian sea is in the South. Pakistan is known for a temperate climate They have hot summers and cool or cold winters Land area: 300,664 sq mi ; total area: 310,401 sq mi Population 169,270,617; birth rate: 29.1/1000; infant mortality rate: 68.5/1000; life expectancy: 63.8; density per sq mi: 563 Capital: Islamabad: 601,000 Because if Pakistan's hot climate during the summer clothing worn by people is light and airy in order to keep cool from the sun. naps are taken in the middle of the day which is also the hottest. during this time rest is taken and buisnesses are closed in order to escape the heat.

10: Family Life Family life in Pakistan is strongly patriarchal and most live in extended families. As for women, their place in society is low and restricted from jobs and voting. Social life revolves around family and kin; family is the basis of social organization, providing identity and protection.

11: Education At independence, Pakistan had a poorly educated population and few schools or universities. When Pakistan was founded in 1947 as a result of the partition with India, the country had only one institution of higher education, the University of the Punjab. There are currently 730 vocational and technical institutions in Pakistan.

12: Language Urdu is the national language of Pakistan. There are many other languages like Punjabi 21%, Siraiky19%, Pashtu15%, Balochi4%, and other languages6%. Also spoken is English. The languages have many dialects so there are more than a hundred different ways to say something.

13: Technology The technology in Pakistan is growing all the time. They are adopting new technologies for there economies. Also there are hints of Weapons of Mass Destruction(WMD) in Pakistan.

14: Economy The economy of Pakistan includes textiles, chemicals, food processing, agriculture, and other industries. There are oil and natural gas reserves in pakistan. Pakistan has the 23rd largest economy in the world. The economy has suffered damage due to internal political disputes. The currency is the Pakistani Rupee. One hundred rupees equal 1.64908 US dollars. The inflation is 7.6%. The State Bank of Pakistan is the central bank.
