Found Poem Show stoppin', show, show stoppin' You got me open and waiting, and poppin' I got to make a hundred of this brown paper bag money It feels good to be young money cash money I was ridin' shot gun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car He's got a one hand feel on the steering wheel, the other on my heart. Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe? There he goes, so perfectly, the kind of flawless I wish I could be. I'm cold like a midnight in Aspen, I am the president, and the assasin. All of the sudden my vision became so clear, everything I needed was right here, before me Baby wont you stay the night? We'll be rockin' till the mornin' light.
She couldn't handle the life she had She couldn't stand the actions coming from her dad She couldn't find lifes meaning At only sixteen Her fathers habit formed and obstacle in her life she had good intentions she had a man who wanted her as his wife Nobody saw the pain she witheld but within her heart was a story to tell Her mother was never there, her father said she didn't care She left when she was a kid, and didn't leave her with anything, not even a kiss She tumbled down unto her bed, and from her wrists her body bled She felt her life streaming from her wrists, in a river of crimson all she could do was moan and twist People gathered, all dressed in black They mourned for the life they could not bring back -"Sweet Sixteen" Jolie George
Myself's Journey Jolie George I hope to see you again, someday oneway. I'll find you, if you don't find me. I'll follow the footprints that we made in the sands of time. I'll watch the sun's shadow And follow the moon's glow I'll be fooled by the giant footsteps of past relationships before. | I'll camp by the fire of lonliness. I'll dance to the rythm of happiness. I'll use curiosity as my guide because when its only me...I don't need anyone by my side My fingers stay curled around the cane of trust. My feet rest in the shoes of independance. I'll stand on the mountain of worries. I'll pace the trails of anger and fury. I will find myself someday, oneway
Run, Run By: Jolie George Imitation of Repitition Run, Run got to run Got to live, this isn't fun. I hate cats, but they love me! I'm their breakfast, dinner and tea. I wish he'd go and chase a bird, I know he does, or so I've heard. But birds are safe, 'cause they can fly, they can live, I think I'll die. Run, Run, got to run Got to live, this isn't fun I wish there was a dog 'round here, He'd leave me then I'll have no fear! But there's no dog for miles around, He's catching up, he's gaining ground!
I must've run for miles now, I've got to get away somehow! Run, Run got to run Got to live, this isn't fun. I'm tierd now, I'm out of breath, but I must go on or "Hello, death!" Jump the stick, mind the brick Got a stitch, I feel sick! But just a minute, what's that there? Why, it looks just like a mouses lair! It is! It is! I'm going in! The cats out side, I'm safe, I win! Rest, Rest, I'm the best. I'll live today I got away!
Before Its Over Jolie George Imitation: Blank Verse- Draw the line on the piece of paper Then add colors, if its proper. Paint your expression, just let it go Let it out, so everyone will know. Brush it with Yellow or maybe Red | or you can fix it with Green instead. Black or White, it doesn't matter. Let's be playful, before its over. Blank canvas, lets play color of you With Magenta, Crimson, or even Blue. Anything like Brown, maybe looks good. | They can be part of you, if you would. Life is full with love, lets play the Pink. It may be too bright, well just stop to think. Or maybe you need to change your color Do what you want, Before the dream is over.

We Are Virginia Tech Nikki Giovanni We are Virginia Tech. We are sad today, and we will be sad for quite a while. We are not moving on, we are embracing our mourning. We are Virginia Tech. We are strong enough to stand tall tearlessly, we are brave enough to bend to cry, and we are sad enough to know that we must laugh again. We are Virginia Tech. We do not understand this tragedy. We know we did nothing to deserve it, but neither does a child in Africa dying of AIDS, neither do the invisible children walking the night away to avoid being captured by the rogue army, neither does the baby elephant watching his community being devastated for ivory, neither does the Mexican child looking for fresh water, neither does the Appalachian infant killed in the middle of the night in his crib in the home his father built with his own hands being run over by a boulder because the land was destabilized. No one deserves a tragedy. We are Virginia Tech.
The Hokie Nation embraces our own and reaches out with open heart and hands to those who offer their hearts and minds. We are strong, and brave, and innocent, and unafraid. We are better than we think and not quite what we want to be. We are alive to the imaginations and the possibilities. We will continue to invent the future through our blood and tears and through all our sadness. We are the Hokies. We will prevail. We will prevail. We will prevail. We are Virginia Tech.
