FC: Argentina's restrictions on Imports

1: Argentina’s import restrictions include a procedure to obtain an import licence.

2: Another requirement is that companies have to balance imports with exports. The European Union believes these measures are causing real damage to EU companies.

3: The measures include: | Pre-registration and pre-approval of goods, called the "Declaración Jurada Anticipada de Importación". Since February 2012, this pre-approval requirement is applied to all imports.

4: -- Hundreds of goods also need an import license. Because of these procedures, imports are delayed or refused.

5: In early 2011, more than 600 product types were affected by this licence measure, such as electrical machinery, auto parts and chemical products.
