9: Mesopotamia 1. Mesopotamia is located between the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers. 2.In Mesopotamia religion controlled the government. 3.In Mesopotamia the used plows for farming. 4. Cuneiform was used as a written language in Mesopotamia. 5.The Sumerians created a system for measuring time (60 seconds=1 minute.) 6.Mesopotamia has limited natural resources. 7.A Babylonian king named Hammurabi developed a system called "Hammurabi's code" a system of law. 8.Mesopotamians were polytheistic meaning they believed in many gods. 9.In the Sumerian society there were social classes. The highest level in class were the kings, priests, and the land owners. 10.To provide water the Mesopotamians dug irrigation ditches.
