And that is where my childhood hides in the seasons of Colorado, in the mountain tops of the Rockies. I am from a mother who is joyful, even during hard times. From a mother who at her worst, continues to help those who she has given her life to I am from a state far from there, Pennsylvania is where I started this journey of life. Although I don't recall it, I've been told it's a wonderful place. I'm from a place, I've been before.

A SOFTBALL PRACTICE... In mid-summer we were on the softball field like every day. In the break of the field where the infield dirt becomes the outfield grass was a huge hump. A hump that becomes a big inconvenience. There were rocks along the hump, little pebbles that stuck in your skin when you'd fall, it'd make your knees stings. Past this obnoxious hump was grass, which some would call green but when you looked out to the field all you could see were yellow dandelions. Players runs across the fence lines and through the bases, where dust would trail from behind. The coaches stood there straight faced, with attitudes, trying not to let us here

them, with their wind pants whistling in the cool breeze of the U.P. Slowly, the players stopped running to continue there daily routines and roar with laughter and expect to catch and throw without error.

That was I.. I was the girl you saw sitting in Lakeview Memorial Gym, filled with maize and blue, on the miner bench at a varsity girls basketball game, in Negaunee, Michigan - white jersey, brown hair pulled back in a messy ponytail, held secure by yellow pre-wrap. I had noticed, of course the rows of mostly students across the court, cheering for Gabby to get the jump ball, or cuddling up next to their boyfriends, but I was not letting my thoughts go there. Instead I was focused with intensity on Gabby and the game that was about to start, and knowing that we would pull this one off. Yes, that was I.

And that was I, the green bathing suit girl laying in the sand in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As you walked past on the beach you would pass the backside of North Myrtle Beach Condos, you would see my mind deep into the lives of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, with tanning oil dripping from my skin. As I laid there with the sun rays beaming down on me, I noticed two little boys making a sand castle

that was starting to sag, thinking that there was no way it would last another wave. The crash of just one more would destroy all their hard work if only they started a few feet back. Yes, that was I.

And that was I you glanced at that evening just before dark, on July 4th, in Negaunee, Michigan. Sitting on a large awkwardly patterned blanket in the lap of another with many surrounding,

you thought, come there to watch the annual fireworks for the independents of the USA, to see the bright colors in the night sky but that was not so. Instead to be with those who enjoy my presences, to talk amongst each other, gossip, and laugh as if it were a gift. Then enormous fireworks startled our conversations that it would raise out heart rates, as everyone around peered at the miracles happening in the shy. Yes, that was I. | 4th of July | *KaBoom

But the one thing I miss the most is those days I got to spend countless hours with her. She means the world to me. She's my angel at three. My life today sucks without her. She talks, she walks, she says hello to me. But I wish I could give her a hug. today.

 The arrival to NHS!

 * I walked into NHS, not knowing anyone. But as I walked down what was the sophomore hallway, I started to notice each and every little clique, as a tear streamed down my face, struggling to find my locker. * Biology with Mrs. Holmgren 4th hour, finally someone actually talked to me. Her na,me was Carmen Rajala. Yes, she was the first person to say anything to me at Negaunee High School. Her and Mykka were sitting in the row next to mine,, we shared a few words. Then Mykka finally asked if I wanted to sit with them at lunch. Thank god, I wasn't going to be eating lunch in the bathroom. * They introduced me to Brittany, Michelle, and Sarah, and the rest is history.. * Love you guys for not making my two and half years at NHS hell. You're the best!! <3

My Last First day of of High School

I got up bright and early, for my last first day of high school. A nice hot shower, some, luck charms, and a hot cup of tea to wake me up. Then it was decision time. What to where? How's my hair going to be, I mean after all this is my first last day of high school. So I decided on a nice pair of plaid shorts and a t-shirt, which were both purchased at, Old Navy. Then it was time for me to drop my little brother off at school. Where he was attending his last first day of Middle school. Then I drove myself to school, to find that everyone had decided to come early, and I parked at the bottom of the parking lot pretty much. I walked through the doors to see a few familiar faces, but mostly freshman that I didn't know. I went to my locker were I dumped the contents of backpack, and heading to first hour, where I then wondered to myself why I even took the class. And now I'm here... writing about my LAST first day of high school. After this school year I'll never have another first day again, I'm going to be done, free, to literally do whatever I want. That's scary to me, will I be given to much freedom, will I be able to handle all the choices I have to make on my own. We can only wait and see.

On Graduating The whole idea of it makes me feel nervous, like worse than going on an airplane or getting a test back-- a kind of happiness, a way of adulthood, a uncomfortable amount of freedom. You tell me this is a big deal, but that is only to you. The perfection of being in lst grade, the beauty of finally being able to multiply. But I can sit here and remember every teacher. In 3rd it was the evil Mrs. Chapman, I could make that woman crazy by stealing her goldfish crackers. In 4th it was Mr. Lambert, in 5th Mr. HUnter. But now I'm in high school watching the days slip away. Simply providing my presence, to receive what I've worked for, for 12 years. This is the beginning of life, I tell myself.

As the end comes nearer, it is time to say good bye to the understanding teachers, and the easy A's. For it is to receive my diploma. | 2010
