2: The first element is THE WORLD IN SPATIAL TERMS | There are three ways to tell directions in spatial terms. 1.Spatial Relations 2.Absolute Location 3. Relative Location
3: Spatial Relations: How people, places, and features of the Earth are connected based on their location. Absolute Location: Exact spot on the Earth. Uses Longitude and Latitude. Relative Location: Uses the location of other places to identify a place.
4: Element two is places and regions | ELEMENT TWO
5: Places- a certain place on Earth with a physical and human meaning. | Regions- a group of places united by shared characteristics.
6: Formal Regions | Functional Regions | Perceptual Regions
7: or uniform regions, is areas defined by common characteristics. | a central place and the outlying areas linked to it by transit systems. | defined by popular feelings and images rather than by objective data.
8: Element Three | HUMAN AND PHYSICAL SYSTEMS
9: Human Systems-People affect the earth by settling it, forming societies, and migrating. People also move goods and ideas to new places. | Physical Systems- volcanoes, floods, and hurricanes that shape the earth's surface.
