1: Martin Luther King Jr. played a big role in the 1960's.He was a key person in the civil rights movement.
2: John F. Kennedy was the president of the United States during the 1960's. The civil rights movement became a challenge for president Kennedy.
3: In the 1960's a big problem arose with the rights of African Americans. the KKK (Klu Klux Klan) made African American lives a total nightmare.
4: Even though slavery ended back in 1865, African Americans where not treated the same as white people. Soon segregation erupted. Like, white people could not drink from the same water fountain as black people.
5: Tough civil rights was a big problem, music was becoming very popular. A very famous rock band called The Beatles where becoming popular fast. The white album was very famous.
6: On August 28, 1963 in Washington D.C. Martin Luther King stood over 200,000 people to release his i have a dream speech. The speech from the steps pf Lincoln Memorial.
7: The Klu Klux Klan (KKK) made African American lives a living nightmare. they believed that white was the dominate race. So they went around killing African Americans everywhere.
8: Malcolm X was born on May 25, 1925 in Omaha Nebraska. His mother was a home maker occupied with the family's 8 children. Malcolm's faith was a crushing blow in civil rights.
9: Flared trousers and bell bottoms led the way for the hippie stage. Variations of polyester was worn along with acrylics.
10: Nial Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930. before he became an astronaut Armstrong served in the U.S. Navy. on July 20, 1969 Armstrong became the first to go to the moon.
