FC: The Great Depression.

What caused the Great Depression? In the 1920's everyone had plenty of money but prices of stocks was skyrocketing. People were living the good life. As the prices scared so did the business cost. Around this time business started having a hard time of staying competive and profitable. All this was the begining of "black tuesday" october 29,1929. this is the day the stock market crashed. This was just the beginging of the great depression.

After the stock market crash people started taking all their money of the banks and saving it. This lead to less jobs + production unemployment kept getting higher.in the 12 years of the great depression most American's duffer many lost their homes, jobs, and farms. Many had to migrate to other areas to try to find a job and food for their faimly.

The goverment passed a law that started hurting the economy. this law led to high tax on foreign goods. All this did was hurt the economy even more because this lowered the trades between the Us. and the foreign Country's because of such the high taxes. The failure of many banks was a major influence. as banks disappeared so did the money that was deposited in them. People who had loans wore unable to pay back where forced to move.

Ife during the Great Depression from 1929-1941. Was devastating for most of America and other countries like Europe. The goverment passed laws that started making the economy worse then what it was. "The smoot Hawley Tariff" This placed higher taxes on foreign goods, all that did was hurt the economy more. This lowered trading because the taxes where so high. banks started closing as banks disappeared so did the money that was deposited in them. people were unable to pay loans and this also caused more stress on the banks.

Just about everyone was affected by the great depression. People packed up the posession and traveled they head to were they thought things would be better most formed camps. called "Hoovervilles" living in schacks or worn out tents any thing that provided shelter for their families. A lot of the people who traveled came from the mississippi valley. These people could pay their taxes and other debt's and had to sell theirs farms for no profit for themselves. with the economy already bad they had no choice but to move on after the rise of hitler and the begining of wwII.
