FC: History of The Camera

2: The first model was called the wooden box camera that essentially looks like a wooden box. It used silver salt to capture the image, because it darkens when exposed to light. It offered the first permanent photographs.

4: He wanted to capture a peice of life that would last. However, the pictures he took didn’t last very long, they weren’t permanent. However, in 1827, he was able to make a permanent image by using silver salt, which darkens when exposed to light. | The Camera was invented by Nicéphore Niépce
6: The first advancement in this piece of technology was the polaroid camera. | *1948 Made it easier to capture a moment in life. *1963 ---> in colour Ability to capture life in colour!
8: Next was the underwater camera. | *It was made in 1960 (for the U.S Navy) and its original purpose was to take pictures at great depths. | *It later advanced to something that reduced in size and weight dramatically.
10: *1978 Takes pictures with less time and used flash that made no need for excessive light or long periods of time where the object had to be perfectly still. --> autofocus was also a new introduction. | The first point and shoot camera
12: The first camcorder. | *Made in 1980. *Relatively small *Had the ability to shoot a full movie on a single hand held device.
14: The first digital camera. | *The camera no longer had need for film rolls. | * Made in 1984 | * The most popular hand held camera in todays typical household
16: Camera Phones. | *Made in 2001 *Small enough to be in your pocket *Ability to send pictures to others via your cell phone.
18: 3D Cameras | *The first real 3D camera was invented in 1844 and was called the stereoscope. (it was just for pictures)
19: *In 1935, the first colour 3D movie was produced. It was not popular. *In the 1960’s, space-vision 3D was invented. It was the first 3D camera where you only needed 1 camera to make it 3D. The first movie using this technology was called the bubble. Critics did not like it, but it still made a good profit.
20: The 3D camera gave the effect that the movies they were made with seemed as if they were almost really there in front of you.
21: The 3D camera has been upgraded so that anyone can own one. They are pocket size and simple enough for anyone to use.
