4: Once there was a Coach determined to make the perfect baseball field for the Major League. One day he was sitting with his family trying to figure it out when his son said something that caught his attention. He said “Daddy at school, we are learning the Pythagorean Theorem.” Before his daddy went to sleep that night he went to the computer room and googled the term, Pythagorean Theorem.
5: The coach and his family.
6: That night the coach slept on it and thought that this Pythagorean Theorem thing may work after all. He got up the next morning, ate breakfast, and headed to work. As soon as he got to work, he went to his office. He got in and sat down to google the Pythagorean Theorem formula. Here he discovered the formula is A squared+B squared= C squared.
8: The next morning he told his boss that all bases must be 90 feet apart. His boss said smartly, “You must prove to me that this field will be perfect.” The Coach thought and said, “How can I do that boss, it will make the job harder,” he said angrily. The boss chuckled, “Get to work Coach.” The Coach stormed out of the door.
10: He went and found the guys and asked them what they think he should use to measure the field. They replied, “ A measuring tape.” He said, "I don't have time to measure all that stuff any other suggestions” they replied," No”.
12: The Coach was very frustrated. He thought he had solved his case to make the perfect baseball field. While driving his car the coach decided to call his high school math teacher. Coach placed a call to Mr. Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was so glad to hear from coach. Coach explained his problem and Mr. Jenkins listened. Finally, Mr. Jenkins stated “We had a similar issue with a football field. However, our shape was of a rectangle and yours is of a diamond.
13: Therefore, you should use a triangle to make it perfect.” Coach thanked Mr. Jenkins for his assistance and hung up.
14: He thought long and hard about it. He pulled his paper out and drew out his baseball field. As he drew out the baseball field he said to himself, “I need a real life example.”He hopped in his car and headed to a baseball field to get some measurements.
16: He took out his clip board and started to measure the field. He figured out from home to 1st to 2nd ,then back to home plate makes a right angle; Therefore it equals a right triangle.
18: The coach drew these squares and realized that he could use the squares as an example. He saw the triangle in the middle and plugged in the formula : A squared + B Squared = C Squared
20: The coach went to his boss's office and said, “Do you see a^2+b^2 =16,200 ft. To find c, I had to find a number multiplied by itself that equals 16,200. Knowing that 90 squared equals 8100, I concluded that 8100+8100= 16,200. Therefore c must be around 127.3 feet. | The boss started applauding the Coach. He immediately picked up the phone and called the construction workers and said,’’ I need you guys to get here A.S.A.P I have good news! We are ready to begin the baseball field.”

22: They began working on the baseball field and realized that the Pythagorean Theorem was a better and easier method. They spread the word to all the construction sights not only the baseball constructors.
23: After returning to work his boss was amazed and decided to give him a raise and a promotion.
