My Mother's Kitchen | " | "Where's the chicken?" my aunt cried As she paced through the kitchen One-hundred and fifty times "It's on the counter!" My mother said Grabbing the green salad With the butter and bread Then, something went Plop! The chicken was there It was dead But it was moving somewhere! It moved around the counter Through the doggy door Up the hill and back Chasing it was a chore What happened afterwards Is a mystery to me But my aunt came in with pizza And called out, "Let's eat!"
Where Am I From? I'm from the scorching city of the southern Hemisphere Where the apartments houses always tower I'm from the neighborhood of the minorities Spending countless hours outside riding our bikes I'm from the dog-eat-dog world Where the older almost always pushed me out I'm from an established sub-division The setting of the invasion of pink-brick houses I'm from the Asian background Which is why getting a B is like getting an F I'm from the South Mixing kimchi and spicy rice cakes with fried chicken and grits I'm from my friends The goofy but lovable people they are I'm from my family When saying, "you're fat" actually means " I love you." I'm from my life Laugher constantly playing on my soundtrack I'm from the turmoil and hardships That shaped how I see life today
Ode to GSMST Oh, GSMST How the education is great No one wants to be tardy No one wants to be late The hallways, so clean The food, so good No one ever wants to leave No one would, if they could Without a doubt This school is so fun! There's no sarcasm there Nope. there is not one I'm not kidding at all The homework is plenty We use laptops instead of paper Think of the trees we're saving! The great Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology How we love you so much Too bad we have to leave
Language Arts There once was a student named Jane Who thought Language Arts was a pain She studied verbs and nouns Don't forget the pronouns 'Cause she can't fail the quiz once again
Mother to Daughter Although I may nag To clean up your room It's for the best It's only for you Go through life Without any hate For what you've done Or who you've met Be nice to others And never look back Things happen for a reason Stay on the right track And know that I love you Without a doubt But lay off the junk food Or I'll kick you out In the end, I'll be in Paris or Rome Because with my advices, Soon it'll be your home
Sick 'i cannot go to school today' Said little Peggy Ann McKay 'I have the measles and the mumps, A gash, a rash and purple bumps. My mouth is wet, my throat is dry, I'm going blind in my right eye. My tonsils are as big as rocks, I've counted sixteen chicken pox And there's one more-that's seventeen And don't you think my face looks green? My leg is cut - my eyes are blue - It might be instamatic flu I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke, I'm sure that my left leg is broke- My hip hurts when I move my chin, My belly button's caving in, My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained, My 'pendix pains each time it rains. My nose is cold, my toes are numb. I have a sliver in my thumb My neck is stiff, my voice is weak, I hardly whisper when I speak. My tongue is filling up my mouth I think my hair is falling out
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight My temperature is one-o-eight. My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear There is a hole inside my ear. I have a hangnail and my heart is -what? What's that? What's that you say? You say today is ...Saturday? G'bye. I'm going out to play!'
