FC: Survivors of Mankind and Survivors of Humanity
1: The Road by Cormac McCarthy. The terrifying story tells of a father and son, traveling south through an apocalyptic America The father's dying and the boy's starving. The scorched world, all units of life, even the snow that falls, even the air survivors breathe, has been bathed and soaked in dim-gray ashes. Desperation penetrates and shrinks the souls of mankind. Pandemonium and murder everywhere and our duo of survivors struggles to defend their selves with nothing but a pistol, a cart of scavenged food, and their will to carry the fire.
3: Synopsis of the journey. Explanations: The fork piercing the smaller fork represents the cannibalism, the boy and his father encountered, while the sizes represents the idea of "hunter > prey". The numerous icons are obstacles and key events that the boy experienced during his migration south.

15: Humans are survivors, enduring hardships forever.Being a survivor isn't the same as being a vulture and a pig. Surviving means enduring and persevering, sometimes we abandon love, loyalty and our ethics. However, we aren't just survivors, we're survivors of humanity. Vultures, scavenge, fight, steal and eat corpses, pigs fight to eat everything including their own family, these animals never break out of their rut, unlike us, humans. Throughout history, we've encountered wars and disasters, each time, we've rebounded
16: and moved on. World War II is a great example of our resolution, during this nightmare, Japanese people have tortured and massacred thousands,but now, japan is regarded as one of the most kind, honorable, respectful people on earth. The man from the book is another example of humanity: after the man and the boy are robbed of all their possessions( including clothes), while taking a bath, and the man catches the thief, he takes back all of their wealth as well as the thief's possessions. Half an hour later, having a change of heart, the man sets the thief's clothes under a rock, and the thief's

The boy himself is regarded as the symbol of humanity in the book, during their journey, the boy's acts prove so, as well his papa mentioned numerous times that " If he (the boy) is not the word of God God never spoke." Even though a catastrophe happened, humanity still lived on, among the tragedies,the vultures, and the pigs, a few humans survived.
