FC: Where Did Grandma Go? | By Cara Tallarida
His mother replied, "Where do you think she went, Tommy?" | "Where did Grandma go, Mommy?"
"Well, I know she was on all those machines. Did they make her die?" | "No sweetie, that helped Grandma stay with us so we could say goodbye."
"Well, than where did she go?" | "She went to a place called Heaven."
"Oh so Grandma went to her happy place. I'm glad she was a nice Grandma." | "Yes, she was and we are all going to miss her."
"So, is she going to come back? I'd like to see her again." | "No, she is going to stay in her happy place. You'll see her one day, but not anytime soon."
"Why are you crying, son?" | "I never got to say good bye to Grandma before she left for heaven. I didn't cause her to go to heaven did I?"
"No, Tommy it's not your fault. It was her time to go. If you have sad or angry feelings you can always talk to mommy and daddy." | "I know mommy."
"Mommy, are we going to do the same thing to Grandma that we did when Kitty went to sleep?" | "Yes Tommy. Remember how we said how much we would miss Kitty and we put her in her resting place. We're going to do the same thing to Grandma today."
"Mommy, what if I'm scared?" | "Don't worry Daddy and I will be here. If you have any questions or concerns, you can ask."
Tommy and his parents walked into a building and entered in a large room that had flowers everywhere. There was a giant box with more flowers on it. By his family's reaction this is where Tommy needed to say goodbye to Grandma.
"I'm going to miss you Grandma. I hope heaven is that happiest place for you. I'm going to be sad to not come over and visit, but don't worry I'll see you again one day. Here are some flowers for you. I love you Grandma. Have fun in heaven."
