BC: George Mueller | Be | assured, | if | you | walk | with | Him | and | look | to | Him, | and | expect | Help | from | Him, | He | will | fail | never | you | "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6 "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10 "The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” - Zephaniah 3:17 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

FC: Romans 10:14-15 | How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear with a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: | "How | beautiful | are | the | feet | of | those | who | preach | the | Gospel | of | Peace, | Who | bring | glad | tidings | of | good | things!"

"The work of preaching is the highest and greatest and most glorious calling to which anyone can ever be called." Dr Martin Lloyd Jones

We were certainly blessed by the ministry of Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Jackson, MS and enjoyed our time there. Our family attended Grace from the summer of 2007 until the summer of 2009. We miss our sweet church family from Grace. Thank you Pastor Thomas for your faithful service to Christ. | The Anderson Family | Craig and Jennifer David, Anna, & Wesley

Good times are even better when shared with | The Andrews Family | Will and Sarah Anna Kate & Allie

I am thankful for Pastor Thomas for so many reasons. The Lord placed him in our lives in His perfect timing to minister to Will and I as a newly married couple, & as new Christians. After going through the new members class, Pastor Winn taught me the important of believer's baptism. He welcomed us into his personal family, & for the first time I experienced what it means to have a church family. We appreciate the Bible studies he led that took place at our house studying Desiring God by Piper. Fond memories include dinners in his home, softball games, talking sports, & playing tennis. We appreciate the fellowship of him & his family through happy times & grief. Knowing his concern, love, & prayers for us has meant the world. He has been faithful to preach us the Word, & I still think often about scripture he taught us in Hebrews. The Lord has been so good to us to put people in our lives at the times we needed it, & has greatly used Pastor Thomas to minister to us. | From Sarah | From Will | When Sarah and I were brand new Christians and newlyweds we began attending Grace Baptist. Brother Thomas and his family basically took us in as if we were a part of his family. Many hours were spent at the Winn home, and the caring and counseling that we received has always affected me in my remembrance of it. It was a powerful testimony to the grace of God working in his life to minister to us. I can remember doing some forced labor projects as well like putting up a fence around the back yard :) and then there was the time we hooked my truck up to a house and pulled it back upright and level...good memories. Brother Thomas baptized my dear wife and she learned much under his teaching as a new Christian and new to the doctrines of grace and how to live a godly life for which I will be forever grateful. The teaching I remember most was studying through the book of Hebrews and then some bible studies we did in our home that he led. One of the things I remember most is how Thomas and Lawanda never were able to beat us in tennis! The friendship and guidance I received in my 3 years under his ministry is something that has forever affected my life and helped me to become the person I am today and I am very thankful to God that he allowed us to have the time we did at Grace Baptist.

Pastor Thomas, We appreciate your faithfulness to serve the Lord and it was a joy to labor alongside of you for the 10 plus years we were members of Grace Baptist Church. We are especially grateful for your support during Robert's mobilization to serve in the war in the Middle East and through the many medical issues he faced upon his arrival home. Our prayer is that the Lord will continue to grant you perseverance as the work of GBC continues in a new location. Blessings, The Benton Family

Mr Jimmy & Ms Charlotte Dale

Dear Brother Thomas, Being under your leadership these past ten years has been such a blessing. Your preaching the truth of the scripture, setting such a good example in your own life, and the love that you and your family show to us and the entire church is remarkable. We have so many wonderful memories such as the fellowships we have attended , your measuring and installing the new liner for our pool, working alongside remodeling and cleaning up the new property on Ridgewood Road, the funny anecdotes you tell, and even how you have come up with a new word "flustrate" which must be a combination of "frustrate" and "fluster". You never seem to show that trait even when things get tough. Just know that we both appreciate all that you do. Love in Christ, Jimmy and Charlotte Dale

It's very difficult to choose a particular memory from our time at Grace under the leadership of Pastor Thomas because there have been so many wonderful ones. We are blessed to have a pastor who preaches biblical truth with both boldness and compassion. Pastor Thomas has also ministered in various ways to our family outside of the walls of the church. What a blessing it is to have pastors who are truly shepherds of their flock, and who seek to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of the congregation. We are thankful for the service of Pastor Thomas, and we continue to pray for him and his ministry at Grace Baptist Church.

The Edwards Family Will & Becca and Brayden

Dear Bro. Thomas: Congratulations on completing 10 years of service as Pastor at Grace. During our time at Grace, we benefited from your ministry in numerous ways. Your family welcomed us to Mississippi and made us feel comfortable at Grace; we will never forget the hospitality that you and your family extended to us. We appreciate your labors to make grace the theme of worship at Grace and your efforts to ensure theology and practical application were never separate but collective. It was a great encouragement to us to watch you minister to your family and proclaim the Word after your father's death. Even during a time of grief, you were able to share much hope with others. We pray that God will continue to bless your service to Grace especially as Grace prepares for a new season at its Ridgewood Road property. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Grace be with you! | Love, Will, Becca, and Brayden

 The Finch Family

What can we say to a man who has: | Thank you for being faithful to God, for unwaveringly standing on God's Word and teaching us to do the same. And thank you Lawanda for showing us what a Godly woman & wife looks like as you have stood beside Brother Thomas all these years. | Brother Thomas, | - been our friend - taught us faithfully - lead us by example - married our daughters - loved our grandchildren - prayed and cared for our souls | We love you Happy 10th Anniversary Fonzo and Bunny

The Hendersons | Mark & Kim Daniel, Luke, Susanna, Jonah, and Hannah

We are very grateful for the influence your ministry has had upon our family, Bro. Thomas. When we came to Grace ten years ago we knew little of reformed doctrine. Under your teaching, we have learned much. We are thankful to be under leadership that promotes homeschooling and courtship. You baptized Luke, Susanna, and Jonah, and Lawanda has taught all our children tirelessly in Sunday School and Bible drills. Our memories are many - family camp, New Year's Eve celebrations, weddings, softball, and more. The common thread through all of them is our bond in Christ. May God continue to use you in His important work at Grace Baptist Church. | Much Love, Mark and Kim Henderson

 The Jackson's

Pastor Thomas, We are truly blessed that the Lord brought us to Grace almost 2 years ago. We did not have much confidence in finding a church that shared our same reformed baptist views. We have learned so much under your preaching and direction of God's Word. We not only have a wonderful pastor, but a Godly friend that we know we can turn to for prayers and concerns. Happy 10 years! Richard and Kelly Jackson

You have been my Pastor for 20 out of 27 years of my life. There is so much I could write about how the Lord has used you in my life as my Pastor & Preacher. I have learned much under your ministry. The Holy Spirit has used your preaching to teach me, convict me, and move me closer to Christ. Hebrews, Galatians, the Ten Commandments, John, the parable of the sower & the prodigal son, & 1 Samuel all have an extremely special meaning to me now. I have had the joy of having my Pastor & Father catechize me, baptize me, counsel me, marry me, lead me in a parent commitment for one child (soon to be two!), assist in the ordination of my husband to deacon, and pastor/preach to my two sons. This has not only been a joy, but truly a rich blessing from my Lord and Savior that will cherish for the remainder of my days. As I look forward to the future, I can not imagine what it would be like to not have you as my pastor/preacher. I anxiously look forward to the future in how the Lord will not only use you in my own personal life but in the life of our church and in the lives of many other people around the world. I pray for you often and rejoice in the thought of not only continuing to worship with you here on this side of Heaven, but also in the New Heaven to come. I love you and cherish how the Lord uses you. | Love, Bridgette

The Kimbrell Family Chris, Bridgette, Carter, and Wyatt | Ten years at one church is no small feat. Mine being a singular position to most in the congregation, being the son of a pastor, I understand what an accomplishment and blessing from the Lord this is. The span of a decade can bring many changes to a church and Grace is no exception. Times of great joy , times of great fondness, times of sadness, times of heartache, and times of distress; the life of a church is the life of a Christian writ large. And whether those times are good or bad we draw strength from our Lord and praise him for his faithfulness to his people, to his church. Your tenure at Grace has been an example of His goodness. He has blessed this church in having a steady hand leading it for the past ten years, a man of God always pointing to Christ and leading God's people with a loving and gracious hand. It seems the singularity of my position knows no pastoral bounds, not only having my father as my pastor for so many years, but now my father-in-law. It is a blessing and I thank and praise God for what he has done through you at Grace and I count it a privilege to serve with you for the advancement of God's kingdom on this earth for many years to come. | From Chris

One or our earliest memories being at Grace with Pastor Thomas was traveling together with him and Ms Lawanda to Nebraska for the 2009 ARBCA General Assembly. Not only was our time of fellowship enjoyable, but we were able to get to know one another better since we had been in the church for only about 9 months. It was on the trip back that I discovered how much Pastor Thomas enjoyed driving rather than riding as a passenger. It has been a blessing to join with him in serving the Lord's people at Grace and we look forward to what the Lord will do in and through us all as He directs our steps in the coming years and fulfills His good purposes for us.

Congratulations Pastor Winn on your 10th anniversary at Grace Baptist Church. We remember the days at seminary looking for a church that was warm, welcoming, and preached the Gospel. The Bentons invited us to a Sunday service and we never looked back. Grace was God's answer to our prayer. Pastor Winn influenced our lives & wrote a generous recommendation for me to join the Army chaplaincy. We cannot thank him enough and are grateful to God for the time we spent at Grace. We have yet to find a church so dear to our hearts. Continue in the glorious work.

The McDonald Family | Matt, Cortney, Avery, Zach, Millie, and Reese

Thank you Bro. Thomas for your many years of dedication to the true preaching of God’s word. We have learned so much from watching you and Lawanda raise your family. It seems like yesterday when we were going through pre marriage counseling with you (long before Grace) and now we are raising four of our own. You are truly a blessing to our family and to Grace Baptist Church.

When my family was in the USA as I pursued my studies at the Reformed Theological Seminary, we were attending Grace Baptist Church, and became members of the church. The church had just gone through some difficult times after three elders stepped down and left the church over some doctrinal issues. Pastor Thomas remained strong and focused as he shepherded God's flock. When the church began to pray for an additional elder to work alongside Pastor Thomas, little did I suspect that I would be that man. Pastor Thomas approached me to think about being considered for the eldership. I talked this over with my wife, and prayed about it. We were initially apprehensive of this because of the cultural differences - we were Africans in a predominantly "white" church. With Pastor Thomas' encouragement, I accepted the challenge and got elected into the eldership of Grace Baptist Church in 2006??? (check the actual date). Pastor was very supportive of me and my family, and encouraged the church to support us financially, materially and spiritually. Those were three glorious years we spent at Grace. I enjoyed a very harmonious working relationship with Pastor Thomas. Our cultural, racial and age differences did not come in between us as we faithfully labored together together. I have profound respect for Pastor Thomas' humility and pastoral heart that he exercised towards my family, and I believe, towards the flock at Grace. We were made to feel at home away from our native home. Over the years since we left the USA, I have sought his counsel on several issues, and he has proved magnanimous with his time and heart. On behalf of my family, and on my own behalf, let me say that we will always cherish Pastor Thomas and his church's support to our family and to Emmasdale Baptist Church. On the occasion of celebrating his first decade of ministry at Grace Baptist Church, I wish him God's blessings as he labour for the Lord and His people.

The Makashinyi Family Pastor Isaac and Shupe Mwitupa & Taonga | 5 years ago , while at a youth camp near the Ocee River, we were having a last session before we went to sleep. We were playing Kangaroo Court and Pastor Thomas said I should sit between Cody and Bethany. I think they were not yet married. I was supposed to make sure they didn’t talk to each other, not exchange any words, not one little word to each other. Pastor Thomas said to me: “Mwitu , don’t let ‘em say anything.” It was a BLAST!

M | The Martin Family | Chris, Megan, Aiden & Ashton

Dear Pastor Thomas, We thank you for your dedication to God and the preaching of His Word. We greatly enjoyed being under your preaching and teaching. We love you and your family. Love always, Chris, Megan, Aiden and Ashton

Dear Pastor Thomas, In the few years I have been a part of Grace Baptist Church, your preaching, teaching, and leadership have meant much to me. I have enjoyed conversations with you, and God has used you and other men in the church to touch my life significantly. I considered myself a Christian for many years, but as you preached your sermon series on Christ's Parable of the Soils, God convicted me of my unrepentant heart and led me to salvation in Him rather than faith in myself. When I was asked, shortly after my conversion, what sermon or teaching God had used to speak to me, those sermons of yours immediately came to mind. Thank you -- not for convicting me of my sin or opening my eyes to grace, for that is God's work -- but for being a humble, willing, and faithful instrument of God and for presenting His truth. Now that I am a man and leader of my own family, I recognize more than ever the enormous blessing that it is to have a church like Grace Baptist. I hope I will never take for granted the rare and priceless gift it is to worship and fellowship with truly likeminded believers, in an open, honest, and pure setting, under Godly and wise teaching like yours and Pastor Bill's. We both want to express our sincere thanks and love in Christ to you. Colin and Joy Miller

As my pastor and a pastor I always thought highly of Brother Thomas because he wasn't afraid to preach what God showed him in the Scripture. I think he loves the Lord, as it shows in his life as a husband and a dad also. He also reaches out to others and I especially thank him for spending time with Randy, my son, as he was growing up in his teen years. Love in Christ, Ann and Joe Mullins | I practically grew up with the Winn family from a very young age until now and have always admired Pastor Winn for the example he has been to me through the years. My parents had a more external view. I have had a more detailed look than most and I have never been disappointed in what I've seen. By God's grace, I've seen his faithfulness in the workplace (outside of the ministry directly) and in his sacrificial giving. I've seen him preach unashamedly the truth of the Gospel and with tears he has admonished and entreated this church body as well as the lost. I would be amiss if I didn't mention the youth trips that helped shape who I am today and the memories that I still carry to this day. Thank you Pastor for the 10 years you have led this body and for the immeasurable effect you've had on my life. Glory to God, Randy Mullins

We have been very blessed by our time at Grace under Bro Thomas' ministry. We have benefited from the teaching & preaching & fellowship of God's people. One of the highlights of our time at Grace was the conversion & baptism of Stephen. We are so thankful for God's working in our families lives. We appreciate Bro Thomas so much for putting up with Nathan's snoring at Family camp. That was a real sacrifice! Our children have enjoyed their yearly trips to camp and we appreciate Bro Thomas & Lawanda looking out for them. We love and appreciate the whole Winn Family. TJ and Janet Mullins

We were at Reformed Theological Seminary from July 2004 - March 2007. We attended Grace for most of that time when Jeff wasn't on the circuit preaching. We were always blessed by the fellowship of the church family. We loved the weekly fellowship meals and the close family atmosphere. Grace Baptist was a very supportive family and always took good care of us. We would not have made it through seminary without them!

 Ms Jackie Ratcliffe

Dear Pastor Thomas: I thank God for leading me to our church. I have never been so welcomed, loved, and cared for by you and the members of our church. I am very happy and content. As my pastor you were privileged by God to stand steadfast against any element that lowers His standard. You confront the world with the Gospel of Christ. You show people what life filled with the Holy Spirit ought to be. Thank you. Love, Jackie Ratcliffe

We respect the way Brother Thomas stands firm in his convictions, no matter how unpopular they are to the world. He earnestly seeks to lead his flock to live a righteous life that glorifies God! We also appreciate his enduring desire for the salvation of our children's souls. Thank you for your faithful service!

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. | Through all of the various ups and downs that our family has been through, Pastor Thomas has been by our side without fail. Whether to comfort, encourage or praise our God with us, he has always been our faithful friend. We praise and thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for such a wonderful example of a loving and caring under-shepherd to His flock. | The Semrads

I prayed Thomas Winn would become my pastor in December 2001. I remember telling Randy Mullins, who was on the search committee, about my desire and prayers. GOD answered my prayers & Pastor/Elder Thomas Winn was called at Grace. What a blessing he has been to us!!!! When Tom died on September 14th, 2005, I called Pastor Winn first, & he was at my home within a few minutes. He went to the funeral home with me & my children, & was most helpful in making the funeral arrangements. During Tom's illness & stay in the hospital, Pastor Winn visited & prayed with us often, but I knew in my heart that it was Tom's home-going time. The entire Winn family was so kind & gracious to me during Tom's illness. Thank you Pastor Winn for your sermons from 1 John which have given me the assurance that I KNOW Christ is my LORD & SAVIOR. That assurance is Pastor Winn's greatest desire for each of us at Grace. I am convinced Pastor Winn loves GOD with a fervent & glowing love, is humble & patient, & is a GODLY man, called of GOD to preach/teach at Grace, & with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT which will enable him to continue to preach/teach the inspired Word of GOD (truth) to us at Grace Baptist Church, giving GOD all the praise & glory. I am thankful that we now have four deacons who love & respect Pastor Winn. I am also thankful that he has encouraged us to memorize Scriptures.

 Ms Linnie Shirley

 The Simmons

We truly appreciate the loving kindness extended to us by Pastor Thomas and the congregation of Grace Baptist Church when we had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave our former church. During this period, Pastor Thomas gave us grace and mercy to heal our hearts and bring us into a loving fellowship of believers. Charles and Robin Simmons Members 2009-Present

 The Storck Family

Dear Pastor Thomas, We thank God for your service to Him these past 10 years and are thankful that God’s Spirit led our family to Grace Baptist when we moved here from California 6 years ago. We have been blessed by your ministry. Our fondest memory has been the one we have of the Mission trip to Zambia with you, Lawanda and others. Your support of the trip and promotion of it in the church was so encouraging. And we thank you for your leadership on that trip and especially the example you set for all of us in joyfully serving others with our whole hearts. May God’s blessing and favor be on you as you serve Him in the next 10 years. Jeff, Lisa, Caleb & Colton Storck

The Walling Family | Andrew and Karen Courtney, Taylor, Madeline, & Emma Grace

It was a hot summer day and we were helping Pastor Thomas and Pastor Lash get ready for the neighborhood outreach. Pastor Bill, Cody & Bethany, Lawanda & Pastor Thomas, Courtney, Taylor, Madeline, Emma, & Andrew were all there. For lunch we went to McDonald's. Pastor Thomas told Madeline & Emma about making special moments memorable, & he instantly became disruptive right in the middle of McDonald's as he loudly burst out the familiar song often sung by Boy Scouts at camp, "Way up in the sky.. the little birds fly...". He was even doing the hand motions broadly. Everyone in the restaurant turned to look and listen to the spectacle. Lawanda was walking up at that moment & ran straight for the ladies restroom. Emma & Madeline just stared in unbelief but it was clear that they were feeling a little uncomfortable. Cody sunk very low in his seat while shaking his head saying, "please be quiet, I don't know this man..". Pastor Thomas overheard Cody, so he pointed to him yelling out, "this is my son-in-law Cody! I love him very much!" When it was all over, we had a good laugh. It was indeed a very memorable moment - one our girls love to tell again & again. Thank you for all the wonderful memories!

The Wallace Family | Cody, Bethany, and Brooke-Ellen | What a blessing to have the privilege to sit under my father’s pastorate for a over 20 years. God has been pleased to use the Gospel which you've proclaimed faithfully, boldly, & passionately every Lords Day to work in my life. I praise God for His Spirit & how He's drawn me unto the cross through the preaching & prayers of His faithful Servant. I have many memories of you & mom teaching me to pray by asking God to save me at an early age in family worship time which was followed by catechism questions, as well as being blessed with many opportunities of sitting under your sermons. How wonderful it was to share my conversion experience with you while on a mission trip to Washington D.C. I covet the memory of having my father pray for me & my new relationship with my Savior as the Lord drew me unto Himself. As I later followed in believer’s baptism the Lord allowed you the opportunity to lead this special ordinance. My soul has been edified, challenged, & strengthened during these years. The Lord has taught me much through the Scripture you have preached through. One sermon series I enjoyed the most was Hebrews. I benefited from understanding just “How Great a Salvation” I have through the blood of Jesus Christ, as well as the fervent warning of trampling the blood of Christ underfoot. Through this study I grasped the weightiness of persevering in the faith and the warning of apostasy. The soberness of these truths still challenge me today. These last 10 years have been life changing for me, but what a blessing to have the opportunity to call on my pastor & father, readily relying on him for the joys & trials that have come into my life. What a testimony it has been to have you perform my marriage ceremony, recalling how you prayerfully and earnestly stood with me at the hospital after Cody was in a serious car accident, and to cherish the commitment we as parents made with our church to raise Brooke-Ellen in the admonition of the Lord. How blessed I am to be able to raise my daughter under the pastorate of her grandfather. Thank you for the dedication and love you have for the church God has given you. | Love, Bethany

Congrats on 10 years! The Lord has truly blessed us with a great gifted pastor. Over the past 5 years I have been sitting under your ministry I have learned more about the Gospel of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ than I did in the past 20 years growing up in other churches. You have been very instrumental in shaping me as a young Christian man. I thoroughly enjoyed the study through the commandments & the far reaching implications they entail. I also will always remember my baptism & your explanation to me of believer's baptism. You always seek to be the best steward of not only your possessions, but also the possessions of our church. Thanks for your hard work in shepherding the flock & I pray that the Lord will allow you to serve as our pastor for many more years. | From Cody

 Ms Jane Winn

God is so good! He has blessed me more than I ever deserved and you have been a big part of that blessing. Your Grandfather Winn and Grandmother Winn (pictured below with your daddy and me) would completely agree with me and be so proud of who you have become. As well as many others in our family! Your Proud Mother

Philippians 1 : 3-11 | I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. | "I do not come into this pulpit hoping that perhaps somebody will of his own free will return to Christ. My hope lies in another quarter. I hope that my Master will lay hold of some of them and say, 'You are mine, and you shall be mine. I claim you for Myself.' My hope arises from the freeness of grace, and not from the freedom of the will." -Charles Haddon Spurgeon

“O what a blessed day that will be when I shall . . . stand on the shore and look back on the raging seas I have safely passed; when I shall review my pains and sorrows, my fears and tears, and possess the glory which was the end of all!” - Richard Baxter | “Preach as never sure to preach again, and as a dying man to dying men.” Richard Baxter | "The first and principal duty of a pastor is to feed the flock by diligently preaching of the Word" - Owen | "We glorify God when our service comes from faith in His strength, because the one who gives the strength gets the glory" - Piper | "The winter prepares the earth for the spring, so do afflictions sanctified prepare the soul for glory." - Richard Sibbes | "Your life is short, your duties many, your assistance great, and your reward sure; therefore faint not, hold on and hold up, in ways of well-doing, and heaven shall make amends for all" - Thomas Brooks | "The more purely God's word is preached, the more deeply it pierces and the more kindly it works." - William Gouge | What is the chief end of preaching? I like to think it is this: It is to give men and women a sense of God and His presence. Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones
