4: COLONIAL POWER: COTE D'IVOIRE BECAME A FRENCH COLONY IN 1893 AND A PART OF FRENCH WEST AFRICA BY 1904.tHEREFORE THE FRENCH STIMULATED THE PRODUCTION OF EXPORT. THEY PLANTED COFFEE, COCOA, AND OIL PALMS ALONG THE COAST AND CHANGED EXISTING PATTERNS OF TRADE AND POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND RELIGIOUS SYSTEM. 9: AGRICULTURAL: IVORY COAST IS THE WORLDS LARGEST PRODUCER OF COCOA AND HAS A 42% SHARE OF THE WORLDS MARKET. 12: CONCLUSION: Some of the positive aspect are schools and hospitals, beaches, hotels, holidays, and export crops, and global protection.. Another positive aspect is that cote d'ivoire is the largest producer of cocoa. However the negative aspect are pollution, diseases, toxic waste. Another negative aspect is rural development and attitudes toward family size.
