6: Getting to know the community with trips to Windover and Big Brothers Big Sisters

7: "My favorite part of MCYL was being surrounded by leaders. This energy throughout the entire program was captivating. I interacted with adult leaders, teen leaders in high school, as well as kids my age trying to obtain leadership skills, like me." -Alissa Ranger, YL '08

8: Game Night! | "Youth Leadership is so much more than sitting in a room listening to speakers, or hanging out with a group of eight other kids for two days...

10: All things grow better with love. | "I loved the Arnold Center visit. It was so meaningful, and something I had no clue even existed in Midland!" -Sarah Baker, YL '09

11: MCYL Visits the Arnold Center, a provider of vocational and related training programs for Midland County

13: "I have made lifelong friends and learned some amazing leadership skills that I can apply to everyday life, such as the fact that I don't always need to be in charge for things to run smoothly" -Elizabeth Ames, YL '09

15: "This program gives participants a wonderful opportunity to interact with other area students and community leaders. 21: "My favorite part of Youth Leadership was definitely Goal Setting. It taught me a lot about myself I hadn't previously discovered." -Mariah Allen, YL '09

22: "If you're on the fence about whether or not to apply, just do it! The application really isn't that long, it only takes an hour or so to compete, and the program is only two days long. There is absolutely no reason not to, and it can change your life in a positive way forever!" -Brandon Cummings, YL '10

24: A family is pieced together with hope and faith. A family is quilted and bound with love and grace. | After the program concludes, 7-10 of the program's participants are asked to join the MCYL Steering committee. These high school students, overseen by adult mentors, plan the entire program for future classes of Youth Leadership participants! | MCYL Steering Committee
