2: News Flash Woods, U.S. Junior Amateur Champion By: Lizzy Bejna Tiger Woods, has won again for the third year in a row the U.S. Amateur Championship. This was held in Portland, Oregon in 1993. He did this for his title of winning to put up a new and only record of winning three straight years in a row. Practice, makes perfection and he earned because of all the practicing with his drives, bunkers, and putts.
3: Tiger and his coaches have been practicing for weeks getting Tiger’s shots and concentration better. Even though Tiger has won 2 years he is going for a new record. He also has a new competition which he had played in the semi-finals, Ted Oh from California, and actually used to play against Tiger in high school. Then the final two was Tiger and Ryan Armour and he was actually younger than Tiger. After 16- holes Ryan was in the lead by two holes. But after a dramatic shot from Ryan, Tiger had a chance to take the title. He took a deep breathe shot the ball, and made the shot. It was a very heart feeling win.” It was the most amazing comeback of my career” Tiger said. His parents came running onto the course and Tiger couldn’t hold back the feelings, and he poured out tears.
4: Dear Father, Stanford has been a great honor to be studying at. School is going great and so is golf. Our gold team has been doing well. I felt strange at first leaving and being away from you and mom, but I love it here. Ever since I have won the U.S. Amateur Championship I have been getting recognized for the first time. But I do have some competition here because many other students have also been recognized here too. I have signed up for five classes and it has been really busy lately, so I have dropped out of calculus. Since I dropped out part way through the semester I have otherwise have been taking, history, computers, golf, and plus a class in Portuguese cultural perspectives. So still in my freshman year I have decided to join to Sigma Chi fraternity.
5: I made a whole group of friends; I have also made a bunch of new friends who were also my teammfriends who were also my teammates on my gold team. I sometimes get left out, because everyone else is a senior. But they have certainly given me a right amount of grief. Like sometimes when I had to wear contact lenses because when ever I would wear them me teammate Notah Begay thought I looked hilarious and then started calling me the nickname Urkel. I like being a Stanford Cardinal; it felt like it was a feeling like I am part of the team. Your Son, Tiger Woods
