2: To My Sweet Anna, Now you are 4 and every year flies by as I watch you grow and learn. This year you will become a big sister and our lives will evolve once again. I am so excited to see you with your baby sister, helping her to grow and learn all the things that you have. You make me very proud already. You are a great helper, incredibly sweet and so very smart. You are learning so much so fast. Everyday you surprise me with something new. It won't be long before you are reading. This last year we took a short 3-day cruise to Mexico and then came back to visit Disney Land. A big hit in your book. You loved seeing the princesses and riding all the rides. After that we went to Branson with Nana and Poppie to see Silver Dollar City. Our extended family, the James', made the big move to Alaska. You have really missed them. You still enjoy gymnastics, craft projects and dressing up. The Disney Princesses and all their stories are your favorites. This last year we converted your bedroom into a playroom and painted your new room pink and purple. It's all ready for your little sister too. What fun!?! Every day you fill my heart with love! I love you so very much, Mommy
3: Listen up, my little glory, while I tell you the story, of just how you became mine. Up near Cloud Seven, sits a place called Heaven where angels work overtime. A few followed me one day, ruthlessly, I'd say, and one got into my head. | I tried to shake her out, but she just began to shout, and here is what she said: "There's a baby far from here, who belongs with you, my dear. Go and bring her home. She's a gift from God above, made just for you, with Love, so you won't be alone." So I took the angel's advice and I didn't think twice, as I boarded a giant plane. I flew a whole day through, and then a whole night, too, and I'd do it all again. For when the plane landed, to me, a baby was handed, and it was a dream come true. Wrapped up nice and cozy, your cheeks all pink and rosy, smiling up at me, was you.

65: Merry Christmas to our family and friends, As this year comes to an end, we had hoped to be celebrating with our little Mia, but we are still uncertain as to if we will be able to bring her home before year-end. Mia was born June 9, 2009 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We greatly appreciate the support and prayers of our family and friends as we wait. Family notable events this year include a late planned vacation to California with a short 3-day cruise and a visit to Disney Land. Anna was sure to get lots of pictures with her favorite princesses and ride all the rides at least once. We both had a great time. In August, Anna celebrated her 4th birthday party as a ballerina at Ms. Katha's dance studio. She is still taking gymnastics with a short break this fall. Anna got her first trophy at the M&M Olympics in May. It was a blast to watch her show her stuff. Other major milestones for Anna this year included, taking her first school field trip to the Jasmine Moran Museum, followed by a second one to the Orr Family Farm. She finally got to ride the school bus. I think she had more fun doing that than actually going on the trip. Anna can count to 100 now, she is learning sight words, and loves to color pictures for family and friends. We are still working on our Spanish. Our friends, Cayce and Efren, have filled our house with labels in Spanish to help us practice. As for me, this year has been challenging as waiting for Mia to come home has really tested both my patience and faith in God's sovereignty. Life feels a bit like it is on hold until Mia gets home, and it is difficult to plan too far in advance. Work has been busy as we have been building a new group and taking on new projects. This year's verse for our family has been, "But you, O Lord are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head." Psalm 3:3. For me, this verse has been a continued reminder of God as my shield, my protector, my glory. When it seems so many things are against bringing Mia home and I feel dejected and overwhelmed, I have to remember that God has wrapped himself around our life and has set his plan for what our family will be and when it will be. That his plan is good and glory filled. With that, I wish you all a very delightful Christmas and a blessed New Year. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men - John 1:4 God Bless You, Maria, Anna and Mia
