FC: The Clarks 2010 Year In Review

 The Clark Family 2010

January was full of fun things - Basketball games, parties with friends, snow, and birthday celebrations for Daddy, Grammie and Ava.

LIVE WELL LAUGH OFTEN LOVE MUCH

 SNOW DAYS

Cold winter days are perfect for doing art projects at the kitchen table, getting school work done and learning about the Winter Olympics!

In February, we discovered that Sarah had curly hair, that Abby and Nathan loved playing dress up together, that birds love our backyard feeder and that we were going to have another baby in October.

In May, there was a horrible flood in Nashville. Our subdivision had 200 homes that were flooded. Thankfully our house was not touched. We spent much of the month helping with the recovery efforts.

May was kind of a blur because of the flood and an illness that gripped our house. All 3 kids developed Hand Foot and Mouth disease. Birthdays were celebrated a little late and I was just at the end of my miserable first trimester. When things finally calmed down, we got back into the swing of things and celebrated birthdays and Abby attended "Music Camp" at the Fiddle and Pick in Pegram.

 Ponce Inlet FLORIDA June 2010

Our trip to Florida was so much fun. We weren't quite sure what to expect as far as how the kids would travel and how they would do sleeping in a new place all week but it went really well and we had a WONDERFUL time!

Watching these three precious souls put their feet into the ocean for the first time was one of the highlights of the year! | FLORIDA

 Father's Day on the beach!

On our 3rd night there, Abby and Sarah were jumping on the bed. We heard loud screaming from the bedroom and we soon discovered that Sarah had hurt her leg. (Abby had accidentally landed on her!) We ended up in the E.R. for X-Rays because Sarah would not put any weight on it and would not walk. Thankfully there were no broken bones and she finally started walking the day before we left!

Our first family visit to the beach was SO much fun! We made this spur of the moment trip when we found a great deal on a condo. (We had planned to go to Destin but there was an oil spill in the gulf and we canceled the trip for fear that the beaches would be dirty.) We didn't tell the kids we were going and when we got in the van that morning, they thought they were going to the dentist!

The Ponce DeLeon Lighthouse and the Pool were two of the favorite attractions while we were at the beach!

It's a BOY! | In June, our ultrasound revealed that the newest member of our family would be a boy... Andrew Edward Clark!

We spent the 4th of July with our best friends - The Barnes Family - We grilled out, ate homemade ice cream and watched the fireworks in Mt. Juliet! The kids also spent plenty of time coming up with creative things to do INSIDE because of the relentless July heat!

We spent lots of time at the Morton Mill farm on where Bruce has his cows. The kids loved getting to ride the horses and they had lots of fun playing in the barn.

Abby Nathan and Sarah have so much fun together. Whether it's playing outside, doing their schoolwork, playing on photobooth or just jumping around inside, they know how to have a good time! Soon, Andrew will be able to join in the fun!

 so many

After months of waiting for Andrew to get here, the day finally came! He was scheduled to come by C-Section on October 7th at 1pm. At 3AM, Mama's water broke and they ended up at the hospital earlier than planned! He was born at 5:46 am and weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces. | SPECIAL DELIVERY

 Andrew

Once Andrew got here, the last few months of warm weather seemed to fly by. Abby celebrated her 7th birthday and learned how to ride a bike with no training wheels! Before we knew it, autumn was upon us!

Abigail Grace remains full of life, energy and hope. She is the epitome of optimism and confidence and her strong spirit, though it is trying some days, will serve her well in years to come. She loves to read and catches on to new subjects with lightning speed and is a pleasure to teach. She is such a wonderful big sister! She takes such sweet care of Andrew. She helps to change his diapers and can get him calmed down when no one else can. She is also such a sweet big sister to Sarah and Nathan. She plays dress up with Sarah and helps Nathan with his schoolwork. It's very special to see them all together! | Abigail

Nathan found his inner boy in 2010. He is still more of a lover than he is a fighter but he most certainly hit a rambunctious streak this year. He loves to tackle with Daddy (and little sister Sarah, much to her displeasure) and he loves to throw and kick any kind of ball available. His laugh remains one of the most wonderful sounds heard in our home and his precious heart is still there under the newfound silliness and toughness. His name means "Gift from God" and he certainly lives up to it! | Nathaniel

Sarah | Sweet Sarah is our resident comedienne. She loves to laugh and keeps all of us laughing, too. This year brought many changes for Sarah. Her hair turned curly in February, she started talking up a storm, started using the potty and she became EXTREMELY independent! The phrase most often heard out of her mouth in the latter part of the year was "I DO IT MYSELF!" I don't know what we ever did without her!
