Dad I'm so happy that you are my father. I know that sometimes we don't see eye to eye, but I love you more than you could ever know. I'm amazed at the accomplishments you have achieved so far in your life. I know there is a lot of this you wish you could change but I encourage you to love the life you live now. I know the factory is your life, and you've put your all into it, but I wish you would take more time for yourself. You've worked so hard and now it's time to play a little! I'm always here for you no matter what you need, just call me and I'll be there ASAP! Love, Haleigh | My dad has always been there for me, through thick and thin, and no matter what happens he's always there! One thing I love about my dad is that he understands me and has been in the same position at one point or another, so I can always talk to you dad, about everything. Everytime I call you, just to talk or needing help, you never fail to pick up and talk. I love you for who you are, and I know everything doesn't work out the way we want it to but it's good enough for me! I just want you to know I love you and am always here!" CAMERON | 11/2010
Dad and Arlene knew about the party for weeks and they were so excited to be able to come and surprise you.
Mom started planning the party months in advance. I was the partner in crime. Shhhhh "It's a surprise!" | Robert, you have just celebrated your 50th birthday and every year has been a great joy for me. I'm very proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Keep on "Truckin!" Love, Mom (11/2010)
Birthday Speech For Robert I was an only child for 4 years. I was very happy getting all of the attention. Then, one day, my grandmother Glenn showed up at our house to stay with me while my mother went to the hospital. I don't remember anyone telling me where my mother was going or why. All I know is when she came back she had Robert! WHAT THE ?????? WHERE DID HE COME FROM? Throughout the years my brother proved to be a pain the butt! I have to admit that I am responsible for my brother's insecurities. As we got older I told him that he was adopted and that another family left him on the porch. He would start crying and ask mom if that was true. Mom would say "no" "of course not!" Then, I would whisper to Robert that they didn't want him to know the truth because it would hurt his feelings. This went back and forth until I finally got in a lot of trouble. In 1986, I moved to Southern California where I met my husband Gregg. We had a small wedding ceremony on The Queen Mary Ship in Long Beach, California. Robert was on a tight schedule as he has been all of his life. He had to get to the airport early the next morning. He had no where to stay that night so we we offered to let him stay in our honeymoon suite with us.... AND, YES! HE TOOK US UP ON IT. Yes, you guess it... Robert spent the night with me and Gregg on our honeymoon night! Lastly, I want to say how proud I am of my brother. Since he was young he seemed to always be looking ahead for the next opportunity to make money. You could see the wheels turning in his head. How did he ever get any rest! When I come to Oklahoma City to visit, I will stop by the Tortilla Factory and just be in awe of all he has accomplished. He had a dream and he made it come true. I don't think Robert gives himself enough credit for all that he has accomplished. All I can say that in my eyes he has been a wonderful son, brother, father, and friend. Love, Teri
Birthday Speech For Robert Hi Uncle, I just want to wish you a Happy 50th Birthday. I am sorry that Frank, Mikayla and I are not able to be there to celebrate this wonderful day with you. I just wanted to talk about some memories that I have with you in my life and there was a time that I remember working at Serapio's and you were a waiter and you started your salsa business. You were making pots and pots of salsa in the back. My brother and I were back there with you helping put the label's on the jars and filling them up. Then you went to market the salsa, I was around 14 I think and you asked me to give out samples at the grocery store. And so I was offering salsa and chips to customers so they could try your salsa and trying to sell the salsa for you. And then as a child I also remember us driving through the country and every time we would see some cows you would always make a "MOOOOOO" and make me laugh and I will never forget that! Somehow I started calling you Robbie, and it just always stuck around. So I just wanted to wish you a very, very, Happy 50th Birthday.... I wish I could be there to celebrate it with you, but just know we are there in spirit and we love you and hope you are having a wonderful day. Jennifer Email From Steve Vandelune/Sales Representative, OKC Victory Packaging, LP Teri, I will unfortunately not be able to make it to Robert's surprise party. I really, really wish I could but I am flying out to New York that day for my 40th (trying to avoid anything like this). I actually tried to get Robert to come along. Robert's and my birthdays are 1 day apart. I have several stories about Robert, but none that you can read out loud. I know Robert as truly one of the nicest, most decent people I have ever known. He would literally give me the shirt off his back if I needed it and that is how you know who a true friend is. Please tell him Happy 50th and I will call him on his birthday to see how surprised he was. Sincerely, Steve
The DJ was great. He got everyone dancing and doing "cheesy" dances. Everyone danced the night away ! | Look at all the neat party favors
The menu was a "BBQ" theme. There were also salad, mashed potatoes, baked beans, green beans, bread and butter. The appetizers consisted of bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers, chips/salsa, queso dip, veggie and a fruit tray. There were 3 delicious cakes served!
