Toast to Mom & Dad Ten years ago, many of you joined us to celebrate our parents' 50th Anniversary. Today you are here with us to celebrate another major milestone, Bernard and Dolores’ 60th Wedding Anniversary. We are very happy that you are able to join with us in celebrating this very special occasion. Your presence here today honours our parents. 60 years is a long time for two people to be committed to a partnership. That this partnership has survived the care and nurturing of 11 children is all the more amazing. Mom and Dad, you provided us with a secure environment in which to grow, while at the same time allowing us the freedom to make choices of our own. You shaped our sense of values by your example. Throughout all adversity, you have been able to maintain your sense of humour. In adulthood we continue to enjoy the security of having you at the center of our universe, - a universe which continues to expand with an ever growing number of grand- children and soon to include the first great grandchild later this year. I would ask that you all join with me in raising a toast to our parents, Dolores and Bernard. May you continue to enjoy the blessings of your marriage and the companionship of each other. We wish you good health and continued happiness for many more years yet to come. Glen
A Toast To Our Grandparents - 60 Years Together [Jenna] Good evening everyone. I’m Jenna Baptist, and this is my older brother, Tyler, and we would like to give our Grandparents a toast on behalf of all their grandchildren. Your marriage, love and commitment to one another for the last 60 years is a blessing to our family. [Tyler] It’s a gift that with a family as large as ours, we’ve all been able to stay close together, gather as often as we can, and continue to laugh and learn from each other. [Jenna] As the grandkids in the family, we have many fond memories which center around both of you and your home at the farm. Grandma was always there to make sure we were fed, had the occasional snack or special treat, and that we always had something to do, and Grandpa was always enlightening us with his vast knowledge of pretty much every aspect in the known universe and always with a smile on his face. [Tyler] At the farm there were always other cousins to play with, toys and games to keep us occupied, but more importantly out of your hair. There was food on the table as we mentioned; Grandma is always cooking or baking. And finally there was a big open space to explore. However, sometimes that led to us getting into trouble. But we were kids, and that’s what kids do. Thanks for encouraging us to be just that. We are ever so lucky to have been able to create so many memories in your home.
[Jenna] You both should know that it is your love and commitment to each other that has allowed this family to grow and become an inspiration in our lives. Not many people can say they have as many cousins, aunts and uncles as we do. 60th Wedding anniversaries are rare and few. Your love and commitment to one another resulted in a family that shares and reflects these attributes. [Tyler] And this large family that is continually growing is only what it is because of you two and that has to be commended. So here’s to 60 years of marriage, which is a long time to have to put up with oh-so-many rug rats running around. So let’s all raise our glasses and toast to the best Grandparents any young whippersnapper could have. [Jenna] So cheers to 60 years of marriage and to nourishing a well-rounded family that we are all so lucky to have and share. [Jenna & Tyler] Happy 60th Anniversary on behalf of all your grandchildren!

With You By My Side This beautiful and memorable day, has been carved into my mind. A precious moment in time, when our lives became defined. Let's rejoice and celebrate, our love and our bond. I cherish what we have, with my heart I respond. This journey of life is so sweet, with you by my side. My smile radiates, with each passing stride. Whether one or a thousand, journey's we take. With you by my side, I feel alive and awake. My soul is filled with bliss, due to the love that we share. I promise you my dear, I will always be there. To the stars and the heavens, our anniversary I shall proclaim. My love for you burns like the sun, with an infinite flame.
How Do I Love Thee How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of being and ideal grace. I love thee to the level of every day's Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light. I love thee freely, as men strive for right. I love thee purely, as they turn from praise. I love thee with the passion put to use In my old grief, and with my childhood's faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints. I love with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death. by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
