FC: Eric and Janise Our Life Story
Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen | Dear Birthparent(s), We hope that this book gives you comfort as you begin your search for an adoptive family. We feel that your child has a place in our hearts and in our family. We have considered and wanted to adopt since we began dating and know through years of discussion and prayer that there is a baby out there who needs us as much as we want them. We hope that the words and pictures on these pages will give you some insight to what our family is like and the love that we share for one another. Eric and Janise
Our story begins when we were in kindergarten it was the first time I laid eyes on Eric, but it wasn't until after high school that our friendship really began. We started hanging out with mutual friends and enjoyed each other's company. Neither of us wanted to be in a relationship, but we quickly became best friends. It only took about 5 months and we were saying I love you. We have spent the last 9 years together and in the process had two beautiful boys. | ........Our Start
Janise's family at her Aunt's 50th Birthday bash. | Eric's family on their shrimping boat. My father in law has since lost the hippie hair. | Our Family I can't remember a time when I didn't want children. I would dream of a house with lots of kids running around and playing outside. I have one younger sister Jenna and Eric has an older brother John. We talk to our siblings on a daily basis. We come from very loving families. Both of our parents married their high school sweet-hearts and are still married to this day. We are fortunate to be so close to them that our children are always surrounded by family. My parents live across the street and Eric's parents live about 2 minutes away. We have learned from them what marriage and family are all about. Our oldest son Landon is 5 years old, he will be going to kindergarten next year at an international school. He is outgoing and smart and brings so much joy into our lives. He is very active and loves to be outside digging in the dirt or playing pretend. He has a chest full of dress up clothes and is always trying to find his next adventure. Lawson is 15 months, he is a happy toddler running around trying out new things and learning about life. I know how lucky any baby will be to have these two as older brothers to protect them as they make their own mark in our family.
Our Home | We live in Louisiana in a single story home with four bedrooms and two and a half baths. We have a fenced in backyard that has a huge swing set for family time and we all get on our trampoline and bounce around. We have a pool that is great in the summertime and lots of room to throw the ball around.. Our subdivision has huge one-acre lots with beautiful large oaks. We have great neighbors and in the evenings everyone is out riding bikes and taking walks. We live in the suburbs, but often take trips to the city to visit the zoo, parks and museums. | Our Backyard We enjoy hanging out and being active. | The Mom-Mobile Lots of room for bringing the kids to and from all their activities. | "We give our Children two things. One is roots, the other is wings."
All things grow better with love. | Season Ticket to the Saints Games | Eric's Parents Karen and John | Eric's brother John our Niece and Nephew and our sister-n-law Michelle | Eric's story... I grew up in a small town, the kind where everybody knows your name and your friends are your friends for life. I was very active growing up. I played baseball and wrestled in high school. I make friends easily and would consider myself an outgoing person. My biggest passion is hunting and I enjoy going to our hunting and fishing camp and spending quality time with our family. Growing up, we spent a lot of time being outdoors. I grew up shrimping on my Dad's rigger and mud-riding on our four wheeler. These are traditions I want to carry on with my children one day. After high school I received a degree in Computer Aided Drafting, but have since been hired and trained as a Measurement Technition for an off-shore company. I love my job and enjoy the flexibility that I have being in charge of my own schedule. This will allow me to have plenty of time off of work when the baby arrives and also allows me to take off so that I can be at all of their activities as they grow up. I am a hands on Dad who doesn't want to miss a thing. I love being involved in my children's lives whether it is taking them to the doctor when they are sick or coaching their first T-ball team.

Ha Ha Swimming in the Bahamas! | We have a huge Halloween party, and always dress up alike, this year we are going to be Shrek.
Janise's story... I grew up in a small rural community, where my grandparents lived next door and you came home when the street lights came on. I had the picture-perfect childhood with lots of love and stability. I did about every activity our school had, I played softball and basketball and was a cheerleader for our football team. I figured out what I wanted to be when I got my first job lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. I knew I wanted to be with kids so after graduation I went to college for a degree in education. I currently work at a local middle school where I teach American History to seventh graders. I love that my job allows me to be home with my children every afternoon where I can prepare supper and help them with their homework. I love how our holiday's can always be spent together, especially the summertime. I enjoy vacationing, and our family takes at lease one big and one small trip a year. We love exploring new areas of the world and look forward to the new experiences each destination brings. I love to plan out our trips and normally have a detailed itinerary before we even hit the road. I love to read and often find myself in a book rather than watching television. When we get the chance to have a "date" night I am always searching for a new restaurant to try. I feel that I have been very blessed and can not wait to add another little blessing in my life. Because no matter what I do in life my greatest accomplishment will be being a MOTHER.
Christmas 2010 Disney World We love Disney this was Landon's 2nd and Lawson' 1st trip. | Hawaii 2005 Horseback riding in Maui.

 Our Family Camp
We love the outdoors and spend most holiday's at our camp in Mississippi. We can fish, swim, ride horses and hunt. We all love getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and hanging out together. We look at the ducks and geese, while we drink our morning coffee. It is really an awesome time for our family. These pictures can give you an idea of the fun times had by all. From top to bottom: Landon horseback riding on Dixie. Eric and John after the hunt. Bryce (our nephew) and Landon ready to go ATVing. Eric getting ready to fight the cold on a hunt.
Us As Parents | is not complete. We have prayed for and discussed adoption for many years and know this, is what is meant to be. We feel that we can provide a great education for our children. Our kids will be lucky to attend any school that they wish. Our oldest son will be attending an International School where he will be taught in both Spanish and English. Since I am a teacher I want to make sure that my kids have the opportunity to choose what they want to be and go after it. I believe that I should raise my kids and not a daycare, though I do have to send my kids there, I have made sure that they go as little as possible. I plan to take time off when the baby arrives. I have enough time put into my job, that I will be able to take an extended leave if necessary. Eric and I are a TEAM, we have to be in order to make our life work. We don't think the same, but we compliment each other. We hope that you see our love for each other and our family. | When we first got married I was ready to have kids, Eric needed a little convincing. When the line popped up pink I think we were both in disbelief. It worked! We have not been perfect parents, but we are good parents. We talk to our kids, but more importantly we listen. We have fun with them. We ready books, and help with homework, we play outside and let them enjoy life. We cheer at their accomplishments and support them through their mistakes. We are active parents. We try not to miss any activity our children participate in. I have already joined the PTO and Landon hasn't even started Kindergarten. Our children are our world and we can't wait to have another little one to share our lives with. We feel that we can give a loving home to a child that deserves one. We can't explain why we want to adopt, we just know our family
little one YOU fill a place in my heart I never knew was empty
My Sister's Family Our Nephew and Godchild Bryce | My sister and i raise our boys together, we live 5 minutes away and they are all very close. Landon and Bryce are 3 months apart and we car pool them to and from school. They are a huge part of our lives. We are always spending time with one another.
Eric and i can't wait to see what the next few years have in store. We have dreams, goals and new adventures to look forward to everyday. I am grateful that you have taken the time to get to know us and we are looking forward to getting to know you. We know that the choices you will make in the coming up months will be the hardest and most selfless choices you will ever make. I am praying for you and hope that you find some peace in your journey. God Bless | Our Life Together
A family is pieced together with hope and faith. A family is quilted and bound with love and grace. | Thank You for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We hope that you find the family you are looking for even if that family is not us. Eric and Janise
LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD Once there were two women who never knew each other One you do not remember, the other you call Mother Two different lives shaped to make you one One became your guiding star, the other became your sun The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried you tears One made an adoption plan, that was all that she could do The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you. Now, which of these two women, Are you the product of? Both, my darling, Both, Just two different types of love. ---- Unknown
