Hello and thank you for reading through our profile, looking at our pictures, and possibly considering us at this time when you may make the most selfless decision of your life. We have been thinking of you and the questions and concerns you may have. We hope this book gives you a glimpse of who we are, and who we hope to be as parents. We have a deep faith in our love and want to share that beauty with children in our life.
About Us We are a cross cultural couple. Eric is an American, and Andrea is a native of Hungary. We met while teaching at summer camp in Hungary. Two years later, we married in Colorado. Now we live in Kansas City, and we both teach English at local colleges. We feel very lucky to have family and friends in two countries. We live in the US, but luckily our schedules allow us to spend longer stretches of time in Hungary with Andrea's side of the family. We have many similar interests, and we continuously encourage each other to grow and learn.
About Eric by Andrea My husband and I have been best friends, partners and each other's help and support for over a decade now. He always makes me feel loved, and he is very supportive of me. He is very smart, creative and confident. Eric is an English teacher at a local college. He has a Bachelors degree in Sociology, and a Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I know Eric is going to be a great father. I love his excitement and when he tells me all the things he wants to do with our children, and what he wants to teach them. I am so excited to start this new journey with him.
About Andrea by Eric When I first met Andrea, I was so impressed with her strength and confidence. It didn't take me long to see her gentle and nurturing side either. She has challenged me to do things I had never thought of. She has supported me and given me the strength in countless ways. Andrea is gentle and caring, yet ambitious. She will be a fun and caring mother who will also look to the future and what is best for her family. Andrea has a Bachelors degree in Teaching English and Master's Degree in British Literature, and teaches at a local community college.
Andrea has been doing yoga for 8 years. She makes delicious jam and soap for family and friends, she loves to experiment with her bread machine, and has a green thumb. Her favorite plants are African Violets, you can find many different colors in our home. Long distance running, going to the gym, books, and learning French also keep her busy.
Eric loves to be outside year round whether on his bike, a hike or at a disc golf course. He is a very social person and makes friends easily. Eric volunteers on the board of directors of a local non profit. He also enjoys creative endeavors in work and at home. He loves to sing even if he isn't very good! Luckily, he loves to cook and is very good at that.
Things We Like to Do Together While we have our own personal hobbies and pastimes, the most special moments are the ones we spend together. As a couple we love to travel, discover new restaurants, watch movies in bed, play boardgames, go on bike rides, hang out with friends or just be at home and work on our new house. We cannot wait to make adjustments suitable for a child.

 Special Moments
We love spending time with the kids in the family, and we are so excited about having our own children join the fun times.
Pets This is Moe, our cat. He belonged to a neighbor who could not keep him and we took him in. Here he is modeling with a Halloween decoration Andrea made. He was convinced the mice were real. | Moe loves to read. Well, he loves paper of any kind and often lounges on whatever we have been reading. He loves to be around us. Moe is an indoor- outdoor cat, when the weather is nice, he is usually outside.
Our Home Our home is a wonderful place for a family. We live in a beautiful house in a quiet, green neighborhood within walking distance from an elementary school. Our backyard and the finished basement are great places for all kinds of adventure with lots of room to run around. Our home is a comfortable place with so much to offer.
Friends We consider ourselves blessed to have our friends. They are part of our family as well.
Why We Chose Adoption | Due to infertility, we knew from the beginning of our relationship that growing our family would be through adoption, and our families have been supportive of us throughout this process. We have spent ten years getting to know each other, traveling, studying and enjoying life together. Now we are ready to share our life with a child, and later more. We are ready to take care of someone, put his or her needs ahead of ours and teach all the things we know. We love our life, but there is something missing; the life changing experience of children.
Parenting and Education | When the time is right, we will begin to tell our child how he/she has come to be part of our family. Our child will speak two languages at home, English and Hungarian, and learn at least one more. We will encourage him/her to appreciate music and art, play instruments, do sports, read, and be interested in the world. We will tell bedtime stories, kiss boo-boos, and sign songs as we grow together. We will have pets just as both of us did growing up. Additionally, we will continue to take trips as a family and spend time with relatives and friends. We will always be supportive and encouraging to build a strong sense of self worth. We will teach our child by setting a good example. We will always be there, but we will also let him/her make mistakes and learn from them.
Thank you for taking time to learn a little about us, and our journey as a couple. Just as you are looking for that special connection, so are we. We cannot act as if we understand the decision making process you are experiencing. However, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We look forward to meeting you. | Eric and Andrea
