FC: Nail Patella Syndrome

1: Nail patella Syndrome is a genetic disease of the consecutive tissue. That can be referred to as Fong disease, Hereditairy Onycho-Osteodysplasia (H.O.O.D.), Lliac Horn Disease, and Turner-Kieser Syndrome. People with this syndrome have physical problems that can be seen. Mostly with this disease, people have problems with their nails. Nail Patella Syndrome is also associated with open-angle disease where some defects are with the upper lip. | Main Idea

2: Nail Patella Disease was discovered by Dr E. Fong in 1946. | Discovery

3: It is caused by alterations in the genes. There are random occurrences about 20% nail patella syndrome. This syndrome can be inherited by a Dominate gene, and even if they have one of the defective gene that is enough to cause the disease. | Genitic Cause

4: The most noticeable sign is abnormal fingernails. It can be noticed by small fingernails, ridged, splits and discoloration. The pinkie and toenails are less likely to be affected. | Symptoms

5: They Provide wheelchairs for those who have sore bones. Also surgery to repair the hip and orthopedic surgery for the feet. | Treatments
