8: HOGWARTS ANNOUNCEMENTS Welcome Students! I have a few start of term notices that I wish to announce 1st years please note that the dark forest, just beyond the rock wall, at the back of Hogwarts, is strictly forbidden to ALL students. Also, our Care-Taker, Mr Filch has asked me to remind you that the 3rd floor corridor, right hand side is STRICTLY out of bounds! Thank you. Gringott's Galleons (vault 687) Each student should have received along with her handbook and wand a bag with 2 gold galleons. You will earn galleons throughout your classes today. Galleons are earned by completing your classes in a timely and mannerly fashion-- Professors can give extra galleons for extraordinary wizarding skills. For example- listening well, cooperation with fellow students, etc. Professors can also request galleons from students who are not paying attention to their studies. These galleons are extremely important--Without them students cannot end their day with a visit to Honeydukes Sweets Shoppe. The galleons are required if a student would like to buy any of th many, many, many sweets and treats there are to choose from! So, earn those galleons! And remember,, we expect great things! Now for the most important part of our Great Hall Ceremony! When I call our names, you will come forth and I will place the Sorting Hat on your head and you will be sorted into your houses!
