2: Dorothy was from Manotick.
3: John was from Toronto.
4: It was | We met at | and we had lots of | together. | at first sight. | in 1961,
5: we were married in Manotick United Church. | On March 3rd, 1962
6: Dorothy arrived at the church in a new red Ford Fairlane sedan. | Nancy, John's niece, was the flower girl.
7: Fred Finley was the best man. Anne Cushnie was the maid of honor. | The ushers were John Rutherford, Bill Coyne, Terry McKimm & Frank VanHumbeck
8: At first we lived in an apartment on Lisgar Street in Ottawa. Then we bought our first house on Quinpool Crescent. | First Home | Our
9: And that is where we started our family.
10: On May 2, 1963, our first child, Peter John Russell, was born.

12: Then there were two ... | On December 17th, 1964, Deanna Jane Russell was born.

14: And then there were three ... | On April 19th, 1967, Timothy James Russell was born (our Centennial baby!). | We had a lot of fun with our three kids in those early years!

18: They loved our new pets, Sissy & Leo the Siamese cats, | and Rusty, the Airedale terrier.

25: In 1974, it was time for another move ...
26: We moved to Calgary & bought an acreage in Springbank, close to the Rockies. "Russell Ranch" was ours!

29: Soon we had our motorhome,"Gulliver". We traveled to the mountains both in summer to sight-see and in winter to downhill ski.
31: In 1979, wanderlust hit yet again. We contemplated moving to B.C. where we thought we might try some coastal sailing. In true Russell fashion, though, those plans morphed into "let's get a boat big enough to live on!" So, we did! | from "Terse Verse" by Didymus Best (Maxwell Roland Russell)

41: Christmas of ’82 was in San Diego, but we were about to move back Calgary to Russell Roost. On the way home, Deanna & Tim learned how to drive a stick shift (and incidentally they did wheelies on an icy lake in our chosen parking space in a gravel pit in Utah or Montana I think). This all happened in our U-Haul rental truck carrying all our family possessions while John & Dorothy watched as Dorothy prepared supper in the Jamboree ("Gulliver")! | 1983
