1: Key West | In September 2010, we had just moved back to Key West. I love everything about the island - the six toed cats, iguanas, Willie Ts, the people, even the graffiti!
2: September 12, 2010 was our 1 year wedding anniversary. | I got Brandon a longboard. He had been eyeing them at the shops. He rides it to work every day! | Shelby Lynn watching him ride.

4: making | Becky and Colin came for a visit for a few days. It was Colin's first time here but Becky's eighth time!
5: Becky's dollar at Willie T's. She makes a new line at every visit.
6: Becky & Colin | They jumped from a plane two miles high over the Florida Keys. They fell at a speed of 130mph and when the parachute was pulled, they got to see a crazy view of Key West, the Atlantic Ocean, the Florida reefs and the Gulf waters. | Skydiving
7: Bridge Jumping | We drove out to an old abandoned bridge about half an hour from Key West. The boys jumped off into a deep section of an ocean canal while Becky and I sat on the edge of the canal with our legs in the water.
8: We boated out to a sandbar and spent the day watching kite boarders. | Boating
9: Walk with Phil Woods | Phil Woods is an inspiration to me. He is 72 years old and walked 2,500 miles from the Canadian border to Key West. It took him 6 months and was living proof that if you can dream it, you can do it. | Dave & I walked the last mile and a half of his journey with him. | His route North to South. | The shoes he wore out on his journey and things he picked up off the ground along the way. | The finish line at the Southernmost Point.
10: “Life is either a great adventure or nothing.” ~Helen Keller | He kept getting closer and closer! | Gina Miller came to Key West for a visit during Fantasy Fest. We took a short hike at the Key West Wildlife Center. | The Key West Wildlife Center rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured animals.
12: Gina and I packed up the jeep with a tent and the couch cushions for some old fashioned camping.
13: Camping at Bahia Honda State Park | Two mischevious raccoons kept us up all night but we still had fun!
14: This was our first time to do the Zombie Bike Ride. We rode along the seawall and then did our best zombie moans riding down Duval Street. | Zombie Bike Ride
15: I did everyone's Zombie make up at the house and we headed to ReCycled to start the ride.

20: Nic Ziama, Brandon's roommate at Coast Guard Station New Orleans, had a stop in Key West on his new Coast Guard boat. We watched the LSU game and showed him around the island.
21: Bicycle Adventures | One of my favorite things to do on a quiet Key West day is to go on a bike ride through small hidden lanes and along the water. | On this day, I made a longer journey two islands up to Key Haven with Shelby Lynn in my basket, where this beautiful statue was standing in protection at the edge of the water.
22: Brandon McCauley came for a visit for his first time in Key West. He did it all - kayaking, eating Cuban foot (ox tail!), taking long bike rides and spending lazy days on the beach drinking fresh coconuts.
26: We took Brandon McCauley to Bahia Honda State Park to grill hamburgers and get some beach time. | We found the perfect spot for grilling.
28: merry | Brandon and I flew to Dallas for Christmas. We spent the night at Nicole's house and got to watch the boys open their presents to see the surprised look on their faces when they got the big surprise - their first puppy!

32: After spending Christmas in Dallas, we drove to spend time with Brandon's family and our friends in Louisiana. | Brandon's grandpa Elbert Lucas, Brandon's uncle, Marty Lucas, Brandon and his dad, Scottie Lucas.
33: After spending time with the family in Deville, we drove to New Orleans to spend time with friends. We stayed at Chance's house in Mid Cities and everyone came over for a barbeque.
34: let's count down to the | new year | We all went to The Metro in New Orleans to dance and count down to 2011. We had an incredible time!
36: We woke up super early in the morning to take the street car downtown to tailgate for the Saints game and head to the French Quarter. | Waking up the driver.

38: Dance Party! It didn't matter if it was 8am, we danced our booties off in the street. There were bands, DJs and drum lines.

55: you | the best thing about me is | We went to the Wesley House Family Services Gala at the Curry Mansion. We had good food, good drinks and Brandon bid on and won a Mr. Z's Pizza gift card and t-shirts. Very cute!

64: All of the time I have lived in Key West, I have waited to see a manatee. This was my lucky day! Brandon and I were going to lunch at Hurricane Hole marina and I saw two manatees drinking water out of a water hose spout. This one was so calm and peaceful and didn't seem to mind at all that I couldn't stop reaching down to pet it. It's a day I will never forget!
65: On a trip home to Dallas, I got to watch my 14 year old nephew, Michael, play baseball in a tournament. He pitched a great game and I was such a proud Aunt seeing him play!
66: Love | Devon Prestridge, Jessica Nosaka and Japeth Cunningham came for a visit from Central Louisiana. They are some of Brandon's best friends from high school and college. This was their first visit to Key West. They loved it!

71: We rented a great cabin on the water for a night. We spent the day at the beach, went hiking during the sunset and grilled out. It was awesome!

81: Nora Jakab is one of my best friends in Key West. We enjoyed lots of lunches, drinks and girl time before she had to return home to Budapest, Hungary. I'm so blessed to have such great friends!
82: THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE is a multi-venue performing arts centre in the Australian city of Sydney. It was conceived and largely built by Danish architect Jrn Utzon, finally opening in 1973 after a long gestation starting with his competition-winning design in 1957. | Traveling Europe with Mom In May 2011, we explored Europe for a couple of weeks.
84: The natural BEAUTY of southern Thailand was stunning. | Dave, Linda, Brandon and I took a road trip to Miami. | We watched our friend, Neil Lucas, play drums in the band, The Pass | Neil was awesome! The Pass was in Miami on a nationwide tour.

87: My friend, Gina Miller, came for a visit from Dallas. We joke that I always make her do things she's uncomfortable with. It was so funny to watch her feed these giant fish! | Feeding the Tarpon

89: Gina and I played tourist at the luxurious Ocean Key Resort pool. We even had our own towel boy. We spent the day lounging in the cabana and getting some sun.
90: In May, 21 pilot whales were stranded off Cudoe Key. A month later, two remained at the Key Largo Marine Conservacy in rehabilitation where volunteers worked to save them around the clock. | Save the Whales
91: Gina | Me | We worked a 5 hour shift holding up "300", a young female pilot whale. She was suffering from pneumonia and muscle atrophy. The experience of connecting with this huge, powerful animal, who watched me carefully but never showed aggression was an unforgettable memory. After two months of rehab, 300 was release to SeaWorld for further healing as whe won't be able to survive in the wild.
