S: Matt & Elaine: Fun Loving Couple Hoping to Adoptive Parents
FC: Matt & Elaine
Hello, we are Matt and Elaine from Nebraska. We are excited and humbled that you are taking the time to get to know our family. Thank you for considering us as loving parents for your child. We can only imagine the difficultly and range of emotions you must be feeling right now as you consider adoptive parents for your child. It takes a great deal of courage and love to make such a choice.. Our hope is that this book will provide you with an accurate image of who we are and what kind of loving parents we will be as you consider this important decision.
is a little world created by love. | Our Beginning We first met while Matt was shopping at the local shoe store where I was working. After a few months and several pairs of shoes & socks later I said yes to a lunch date with Matt and some mutual friends. We ended up spending the entire day together and by the end of day I knew Matt was "the one". At the time Matt was working out of state so we spent countless hours on the phone and spent as much time together as we could when Matt would return every other weekend. We also had a great love for traveling and would plan trips together with friends as often as we could to see concerts or simply explore a new place. A year later, Matt proposed during a trip to Italy. We had talked about getting married, but I was completely surprised when he asked me to marry him in Rome after a beautiful tour of the city. We were then married a year later, buying our home, and getting our family dog, Linford. We both feel very blessed to be married to our best friend. | Celebrating our 7th Wedding anniversary in Hawaii

Why We're Choosing Adoption We've always known we wanted a large family and after a few years of growing together in our marriage we felt it was time to start expanding our family. We looked at adopting first, since we both had a heart for adoption, and then decided to try to get pregnant. After a few years and many doctors’ appointments later we were told there was no explanation for our infertility. This was frustrating to say the least. Not having a specific diagnosis to point to is difficult, but we trust in the Lord and know that His plan is to grow our family through adoption. | FAMILY | HOPE | During the summer of 2011 we became licensed foster parents. While we haven't had any foster children since becoming licensed, we are open to God using us in this role to help other families and to build ours. | Spending time with one of our nieces
What We Hope for in Our Adoption We value the relationships between birth parents, adopted children, and adoptive parents. We would love to get to know you, if you would like, and we'll be there for you during this difficult process and offer our support. If you would like to meet us, we would feel honored to meet you and spend time together. We are open to inviting you into our lives through letters, emails and phone calls if you so desire. We believe children want to know their birth families and will include you, as you’re comfortable. However, if you are looking for a more closed adoption we respect your privacy. We will be here to support you in anyway we can at the level you're most comfortable. Please know you will be in our prayers each and every day. | Celebrating the birth of our friend's son
Elaine works at the University as a cooperative business developer. She helps groups of people in rural areas build businesses, that they as a group own and operate. Elaine is committed to helping others succeed and enjoys being a part of start-up businesses. While she enjoys her work and staying busy, she is very much looking forward switching careers to a “stay at home mom” and raising children. She'll continue to work from home on a part-time basis helping Matt in building their company, but they both value staying home to raise a family | ELAINE
My Wife Elaine (by Matt) Elaine is a beautiful woman, loving and caring, patient and kind. She's a hard worker, but she's pretty easy going as well. Elaine loves the Lord and has heart for others. She takes care of me when I need it, and is interested in the welfare of others, both at work and church, and family. | When someone asks her for something she is always willing to help out in anyway she can. I married Elaine because I love her, she is my best friend, and I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I know she'll be an amazing mother to our children.
Matt inspires and challenges everyone around him. He is very humble and loves the Lord. I know he will be a great dad, because of his compassion, love and playful personality. He loves playing and teasing our nieces and our friends' children. I can barely wait to see him become a dad & raise a family together! | My Husband (by Elaine) Matt is smart, funny, honest, driven, creative and adventurous. From the day we first had lunch with friends I knew he was the man I wanted to spend my life with. I love him very much, and I’m truly grateful to have him by my side.
Matt is a hard worker and has built a very successful consulting company straight out of college. He enjoys new challenges and is always in search for the next great project to conquer. Matt is a great provider for our family. He loves being his own boss and starting new businesses. In the past he has had his own photography business and is currently starting a historic photography company. Matt enjoys the flexibility of working for himself and is determined to build another successful company, in which we both can work from home and be with our family, while still traveling and having time to do the things we love to do together. | MATT

Elaine Ever since I was young I have enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and of course eating. All of these are best when there are friends and family around to share in the fun. When I’m not getting coffee, shopping, or watching movies with my girlfriends, I love to read, take Linford on long walks and exercise. One of my most favorite things to do is travel. I love seeing new places, eating different foods, and getting to meet people. | Matt I enjoy being outdoors. My favorite things to do are biking, running, skiing, taking photographs as well as studying historic photography. I also really enjoy spending time with family & friends. During the workweek I make plans to have lunch with a different friend everyday. I have always enjoyed going to different sporting events and look forward to being able to take our children with us to future basketball football, and baseball games. | Cupcakes Elaine made for a friend's wedding | Elaine on a ship wreck SCUBA Dive | Matt Taking Photos

OUR NEIGHBORHOOD We live in a quiet neighborhood with many families. There are many parks and pools within walking distance. Our neighbors love to celebrate the holidays. The 4th of July Parade is our favorite. All of the children decorate their bikes and wagons, then follow a fire truck through the neighborhood and take turns holding the fire hose. | In front of our house is a large green space where people gather to play with their children and pets. | Kitchen

Parenting & Education We will provide a secure home full of love, support, and respect. We'll raise children with Christian values, and to have a relationship with the Lord. We will introduce and encourage our children to be involved in music, sports, arts, and academics. We'll support them in their passions and talents, and guide them through life's ups and downs. Education is very important and we'll expect and encourage them to do well and to attend college. We will also have many fun times, enjoying simple things like, going to the park, watching and playing games, reading, hanging out, celebrating holidays with extended family, and family vacations.
