FC: In Loving Memory of Glenda Jean Slonecker February 5, 1975-November 12, 2011
Dad, I hope this book helps you remember Glenda and the lives she touched. Love, Jess
"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."
When I'm Gone When I come to the end of my journey And I travel my last weary mile Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned And remember only the smile Forget unkind words I have spoken Remember some good I have done Forget that I ever had heartache And remember I've had loads of fun Forget that I've stumbled and blundered And sometimes fell by the way Remember I have fought some hard battles And won, ere the close of the day Then forget to grieve for my going I would not have you sad for a day But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay And come in the shade of evening When the sun paints the sky in the west Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."
"The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God."
"Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."
Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you cared. Feel no sorrow in a smile, that she's not here to share. You cannot grieve for her forever, she would not want you to. She'd hope that you could carry on, the way you always do. So talk about the good times, and the ways you showed you cared. The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared. Let memories surround you, a word someone may say, will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day. They will bring her back as clearly as if she were still here, and fill you with the feelings that she is always near. For if you keep these moments, you will never be apart. And she will live forever locked safe within your heart.
"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow." | "I still miss those I loved who are no longer with me but I find I am grateful for having loved them."
