S: Remembering T. G. Weathermon

BC: The Journey I have begun a Journey. I cannot turn back. I have begun a Journey and the way lies ahead. The Voice has spoken: Leave all things and come with me! I must follow where It leads. All things end - and all things continue. All things change - and all things remain the same. This is a journey of a thousand years at an instant. This is the journey of the soul toward the discovery of itself. This is the journey into one-ness with the Heart of God. Let us hold in our hearts the sure knowledge that -Past all tears -Past Death itself We shall meet again and embrace!

FC: Remembering T.G. Weathermon

1: Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I did not die. Thomas Gordon Weathermon 1926 - 2008 This book is created by his family, who will remember him always with love and affection for the kindness, gentleness, and wisdom he has shared with us all. 134: Dad, You have been so many things for our family: husband, father, grandpa; engineer, provider, inventor; fisherman, outdoorsman, diver; troubleshooter, advisor, protector; artist, photographer, teacher; builder, planner, shepherd; companion, confidant, friend. We all knew you were something special, a rare man who still found time to have unique relationships with each of us. There is nobody like you, and we will all miss you so much. Above all, you have been my Dad which is a gift I treasure until I see you again. Love always.... Vin

135: Dear Dad, I miss you so much. I appreciate every thing you have ever done, down to the tiniest little thing. It's so hard for me to express how much I love you. All of my life I have bragged to everyone that you are the best dad in the whole world. I know I've told you this a million times, but I wanted to tell you a million times more. I'm going to keep trying to make you proud, dad. You would beso proud of us kids because we are supporting each other and mom. I believe you are around and will be watching over us. I know I am going to see you again someday. I wish I could hug you again. You are so strong and took such good care of us, dad. I learned so much from you. You showed me how to be a good person. I have so many memories of our special times together. Every weekend you took me anywhere I wanted to go. We went to Little Tokyo, Griffith park, the Observatory, every museum around, the Zoo, hiking, fishing on your boat, and horseback riding to name a few. You always had time for me and always showed and taught me things. You inspired me to take up manyhobbies, such as music, photography, jewelry making, stained glass and the love of nature. I will always remember our family trips, especially to Sequoia. I want to emulate you in any way I can. You are so smart, kind, a great parent, husband, and the greatest grandfather ever. Jakob and Trevorare blessed to have had you as their role model and hero. You gave us all the love you had. I don't ever want to forget anything about you dad. My heart breaks for you, and I have never been this sad. I really loved it when you came swimming at my house. The best part of having that pool was that we spent more time together. Because you are so great and my hero, it just hurts that much more that you are gone.. In closing, nothing has changed. You are still the best dad in the world. See you later, Dad. Love always, Heidi

136: Dear Grandpa, You are my hero. If there is someone’s footsteps I would like to follow in it would be yours. You are a great man. You have taught me so much and have been so generous to me all these years. All the trips you have taken me on meant so much to me. I will always cherish the memories of all the beautiful places we have seen together. Sequoia, Yellowstone, Washington D.C., and Grand Canyon, to name a few, were so cool and I will continue to go to these places for the rest of my life. You are a genius when it comes to just about everything. All those times I helped you work on things or fix things, you taught me many new techniques on how to repair busted fences or landscape the yard. We painted a whole house together. I have been the luckiest kid on Earth to have such a wonderful grandfather. Even though I have not chosen a career path, I will go to college and get a Masters Degree and make you proud. You are my best pal and you always will be because I will always have you in my heart and soul. When I have kids and one is a son I will name him Thomas Gordon Weathermon II, after the greatest man who ever lived. I hope that when I am a grandfather I will be lucky to have half the wisdom you had. Growing up I was always by your side, watching to see what you would do next, amazed by your luminous knowledge. You are my mentor. You taught me about life and how to live it to the fullest. You are my favorite person in the world and I was always happy to go on vacations with you. Even if I had a job I would quit it just so I could go on a vacation and spend time with you. I love you grandpa. I miss you so much and I wish u were here. We were supposed to go to Sequoia together. I want you back. Grandma wants you back. We all want you back because without you were like a house with no foundation. We are all in shambles. I hope someday I will see you again. Till then I will never forget all you have done for me. Love, (Your Best Pal) Trevor

137: Grandpa thank you for being there for me and my brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles even though some of them are ungrateful. I will always love you and miss you. Trevor and I thank you for every single word of wisdom you gave us over our lives and it has helped us every single step of the way to becoming true men. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA DAWSON F. ROSSMAN

138: My love floats on the air light as a butterfly sparkling like wind-blown aspen leaves shining golden in the afternoon sun softly the love lights on the edge of the meadow contemplating what cannot last forever finding refuge in the cool nook of a pile of granite rock resting and reflecting on the impermanence of all the beauty found within is greater than that found without | Someday when our bodies are old and worn, from one another we are finally torn. Our bodies may not be permanent, but our souls are pure light. When the solid turns to dust, our hearts will take flight. If I go before you I will watch and protect you each day, in your ear "I love you" in whispers I'll say. Someday when we are reunited my friend, just take my hand and walk on this timeless trail with me again. Under God and the trees on this beautiful day, I pledge my love for you will always stay. With love from Heidi

139: Dear Gordon, Thank you so much for being a father to me. There are two men that I look up to. My Grandpa Wid was one, and you are the other. I admire you. You treated me like a son, you welcomed me into your family. I enjoyed talking to you about stained glass, music, science, picture taking, computers and so many other things. You can build and fix anything. If I had any questions, you had the answer. You showed me how to install toilets, put up rain gutters, fix pipes, replace springs on garage doors. You put in sinks, countertops, security doors, and regular doors too. You fixed so many things in our home that I can't remember them all. If we needed help, you were there. You have done so much for all the kids, helping them with their homework, going to Sequoia every year, and making thick photo albums for each kid with all the pictures labeled with names, places and dates. That was a lot of work, but you did it out of love for your family. You gave them all something to remember those great trips. I would have never been to Sequoia if it wasn't for you. I could fill a book with all the loving things you did for all of us. It was fun having you over to our house to swim and listen to Arthur Lyman and ABBA. You treated me like a son. I love you. Kelly

140: Grandpa, You are the greatest man I’ve ever known and a perfect example of a role model. Anyone who could take the time to show all these kids how to grow up and be better people sure is special. Everyone loves you, for what you have done for us and what we will pass on to our children in time. You’re the smartest man, always fixing things and tinkering with stuff to make it better. No matter what happened or what kind of trouble I got into, you were always there to stand up for me. I will always remember going on these wonderful trips and seeing beautiful sights of nature. You showed me how to fish and we did so many times, always having fun even if there wasn’t a catch. Grandpa, you were my dad at times when no one else could be. I wish you were still here telling me, everything’s okay. But as hard as it is to face, you’re in heavens kingdom watching over all of us. I know that I as well as everyone in this family that loved you will become stronger. I know that’s what you would want and I can say honestly I’m going to try and become a great man like you. You are the best person I’ll ever know in my life and I love you Grandpa. Until we meet again, Love, Jakob

141: Grandpa, I remember when I was smaller you would take us all to the mountains. The hikes you and grandma took all of us kids on seemed like they would never end. I would walk slow because I was tired, and then speed up to be next to you. Noticing how little I was and how hard it was for me to keep up, you would let me grab on to your big wooden walking stick as you helped to march me through the forest and up the steep mountains. Every question I ever had for why this and why that, you had an answer to. I noticed you had an encyclopedia up there because about twenty minutes later I felt like I knew everything. After school, my cousins and I would come over and ask for help with homework. Math was always a struggle for me, but you didn't give up or look at me like I was stupid as many of my teachers have. When I was in your office just bored and wanted to bug you, never did you push me away. You made me a tool box, like you did for the boys. You gave me some tools and a hammer, and anything else I wanted to take apart and play with. I probably should have gotten you something expensive for your birthday, or a Christmas present you would remember for years. Instead I can only hope that you know how much I love you and that you really didn't go anywhere at all. You're still here, watching over me. You gave me a walking stick, a little extra strength to finish the job and to march right over every obstacle in my life. I love you and I'll miss you forever Grandpa. Lauren
