46: the beams of our house are cedar, our rafters are pine. " The house of the Bride and Bridegroom is built of two kinds of wood. Strong cedar beams form the supports and beams, softer pine (probably Phoenician Juniper) is used for the paneling and lesser structural members. The cedar referred to is the well-known cedar of Lebanon used in the Temple. "Wood" in the Bible typifies "humanity." A marriage relationship consists of two human beings (one man and one woman) being joined to each other so as to become "one flesh." A new house, a new relationship, in which both contribute in equal measure is the result. The word "house" is plural, but used in a singular sense. An extended dwelling---gardens, orchards and other dwelling places are all "home" for the lovers. "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." (John 14:2-3)" Keys to the Song of Solomon by Lambert Dolphin Look at the pic on the left ... the reflection of the clouds at sunset reminds me of a home with lights on in the "many rooms". This brings me hope and comfort that I will be in heaven one day, in my room that God has prepared for me and see all those whom I loved and have gone on... like my Daddy. At his funeral I remember the pastor saying this scripture and it really spoke to my hurting heart.
47: LOVING the heavenly White Water Sunsets. God is such an artist! In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? John 14:2 I can not help but notice the two trees that are almost intertwined. This reminds me of a story Mac Weaver told us at one of our church's couples retreats. I tried to google it and found this. | MARRIAGE ROLES IN BIBLICAL BALANCE by Wendell E. Miller Marriage can be likened to two trees. The husband should be like the oak tree. He is to be stronger, and he is to protect his wife from the winter winds. She is to be like the apple tree, not as strong but with a godly beauty, usefulness, and fragrance. If two trees are too close together, they do not have limbs all of the way around. If a husband loves his wife biblically, he will give her opportunity, space, and encouragement to develop "limbs all of the way around." If a husband loves his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it, he will allow her, give her opportunity, and encourage her, to develop as a godly and competent woman in the home, in the church, and in the community. Proverbs 31:10-31 speaks of the wife of many virtues. This woman heard of a field that was for sale, she considered its worth, and she bought it (vs. 16). God commended this wife. What about the husband? Since God was pleased with her, she had not done this contrary to her husband's will. Instead, we can assume that he was encouraging her, and God was pleased with him, too. There is a message for husbands. We read that "Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land" (verse 23). Apparently, her reputation, and his reputation for his wisdom in using her skills and talents, had led him to a place of leadership in the community--he sat at the gate as one of the rulers. If a man is wise, he will take his wife as a full partner and help her develop her talents. If he really loves her, as opposed to considering her as a possession to serve his every desire, he will dedicate himself to helping her develop as a godly woman. Wives submit? If a husband is loving her as God intends him to love her, he will be so unselfishly and humbly dedicated to her good, and so considerate of God's will for her as well as her wishes, desires, and opinions, that she will hardly realize that she is in submission. This is the beauty of biblical roles in marriage. If biblical truth is held in balance and practiced, the husband will be dedicated to doing good for her, and she will gratefully let him lead.
48: SUNRISE SUNSET (Song form Fiddler on the Roof) Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I don't remember growing older...When did they? When did she get to be a beauty? When did he grow to be so tall? Wasn't it yesterday that they were small? Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly flow the days Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers Blossoming even as they gaze Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly fly the years One season following another...Laden with happiness and tears. What words of wisdom can I give them? How can I help to ease their way? Now they must learn from one another...Day by day They look so natural together...Just like two newlyweds should be Is there a canopy in store for me? Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset Swiftly fly the years One season following another Laden with happiness and tears | Thinkin' back in time, When love was only in my mind, I realize... Ain't no second chance You've got to hold on to romance, don't let it slide There's a special kind of magic in the air When you find another heart that needs to share Baby, come to me, let me put my arms around you, This was meant to be and I'm oh so glad I found you, Need you ev'ry day, gotta have your love around me, Baby, always stay 'cause I can't go back to livin' without you Spendin' ev'ry dime, To keep you talkin' on the line, That's how it was, And all those walks together out in any kind of weather Just because | Can you find the heart in this pic? Just sayin'
49: In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2 | There's a brand-new way of looking at your life When you know that they'll be standing by your side The nights can be cold There's a chill to ev'ry evenin' when you're all alone Don't talk anymore 'cause you know that I'll be here to keep you warm (Oh, darling keep me warm) Baby, come to me, let me put my arms around you, This was meant to be and I'm oh so glad I found you, Need you ev'ry day, gotta have your love around me, Baby, always stay 'cause I can't go back to livin' without you
