S: Oh, the Places You'll Go!- Summer 2011
FC: Summer 2011 | Oh, the | Places | You'll Go
1: In the very hot summer of two-oh-one-one Mommy and Ian took off for some fun. First in July they went in the car with Grandma and Papa and Jenny real far. They traveled all night to North Carolina to visit Jon, Rachal, and young Jeremiah. Ian ran on the hills, admired Jon's "desert." picked some blueberries, threw up on his t-shirt. Ian went to a mall with a great trampoline and jumped higher than anyone's ever seen! They saw many sites, in museums they played, then off to the mountains in a cabin they stayed. They hiked and they ran and they ate lots and lots And Jenny got bitten by a gray rabid fox. Overall it was fun, they were sorry to go, but they had more adventures in store and so.... They drove to Great Grandma's Kentucky house full of fun things that were lying about. | But first, on the way, they stopped at a zoo to see the animals (there were quite a few!). They went to Aunt Sandy's and Uncle Garth's farm to sit on a tractor, catch bugs by the arm. Then they all drove away to Tennessee to visit, for a bit, with "Cuzuncle" Billy. Then down, down to Georgia to see Jo and Gary and their brood of 6 kids and a dog that was scary. Then finally back home to recoup for a bit, and visit with Daddy before our next trip. | And then we got tired of talking in rhyme, so we'll finish it up in prose this time. We flew to Michigan and Ian got his very own seat. It was a great flight. Aunt Sara picked us up at the airport and we stayed with her and Uncle Hisung for a couple weeks. Ian went camping for the first time and saw the Sleeping Bear Dunes. April got to take a trip to Cedar Point while Sara's mom watched Ian. We spent time with Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Sandy, having picnics and going to playgrounds. We also got to visit Frankenmuth and got some yummy fudge. We stayed a few days at Uncle Nate and Aunt Christie's house, where we could play with cousin Colton. We also got to visit with Great-grandma Judy, Great-grandma Lee, and Great-grandpa Larry. Grandma Lee had a great BBQ party at her house where we also got to visit with Great-aunt Judy and Great-uncle Russ. It was a great spending time (and meeting) family. Finally our time was up, or vacation was over. It was the best summer and we have so many great memories and photos.

22: Grandma, Papa, Jenny, Jon, Rachal, Jeremiah, Mommy, and Ian all stayed in a cabin in North Carolina to get some fresh air and relax together. It was really fun.
23: While we were staying at the cabin, we saw some deer and foxes. On the first day there, Jenny and Ian were out for a walk when they came across a gray fox. Ian immediately went to Jenny to be picked up. Grandpa Kevin shouted, "Stay there and see if it will come to you," thinking it was tame. It then growled at them and ran. Jenny tried getting away and slipped on the gravel drive. The fox bit her ankle, and then ran away. Ian laughed and thought it was funny. Jenny went to the emergency room at the hospital and was treated for rabies. The next day the fox was found dead. Rachal, Mommy, and Jenny saw another fox around the cabin later. It looked right at them. A week after we left we got a call that another fox was found with rabies. We didn't go outside much after that. | Jenny and the Fox
25: We took a hike at Hanging Rock State Park. Ian loved hiking and playing on the rocks. We saw waterfalls and great scenery.

58: What a great vacation!
59: Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You're off and away! You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go. You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care. About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there." With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street. And you may not find any you'll want to go down. In that case, of course, you'll head straight out of town. It's opener there in the wide open air. Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you. And when things start to happen, don't worry. Don't stew. Just go right along. You'll start happening too. OH! THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!
