S: SUMMER 2011
BC: "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss
FC: Summer 2011
Summer fun! Boys love water as much as they love mud.
Josh, Evan, Isaac, Mom and Grandma Ellen spent the 4th of July at Cayucos. Dad was with Nick who unexpectedly had to get his appendix out.
Enjoying the view from the shade of the umbrella.
A stop at the zoo, Josh & Isaac jumping waves & Evan goofing with Grandma's dog.
We had such a great time at the beach and the parade, even though the fireworks scared the heck out of the twins and we missed Nick.
Swimming, BBQ, camp fire, marshmallows, singing and dancing, prizes, crafts, hot breakfast and a playground. I think the kids thought this was the best camping trip ever and we were only a few miles from home.
 Family Campout at Rusch Park
Nick's wagon was a hit at the "last day of school" party. The teachers were worried it would tip over with all the kids hitching rides on it! Little brothers even got to join the fun at the park. Nick's kite was also wildly popular with his classmates. | Right: Josh and buddy Jacob at the 8th grade dance. They practiced for months in PE. Josh and Nick ready to start school again a few months later. Isaac Adrian, Ryan, Evan and Jayden - daycare buddies.
The boys and all the neighborhood kids spent the summer in the pool. Swimming twice a day for months, the twins moved from fearless cannonballs with life vests to cautiously swimming around the shallow end without touching.
"Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a dad." - Anne Geddes
These Are The Moments We Live For | Chillin' with Dad on the back deck, All 5 boys at the lake, Isaac sleeping on Dad, Josh's new truck he will fix with Dad and Evan using the tire iron to fix his dump truck, just like Daddy.
Evan is our goofball, is always ready to ham it up for the camera.
Fun with the tape measure, a water fight with the kids in the neighborhood, Isaac watering the tree in the front yard, and Mocha taking it all in.
Evan helping unload the truck. Mocha sprawled out relaxing below.
Nick and Mika's lemonade stand. Evan and Isaac's favorite climbing tree at the park, also loved by Josh and Nick. Alhambra Park downtown with Mom and Grandma Ellen. Ask Evan about the bees...
Always fans of anything with wheels, all the boys took their interest in bikes and scooters to a whole new level this summer. We frequently visited the skate park at Rusch Park and Center High around the corner. Josh's obsession is trickling down the line of Smith boys.
This summer Evan & Isaac learned how to ride a bike without training wheels, to swim without a life vest, to use the computer at the library, Evan got over his unnatural fear of monkeys at the zoo (no more nightmares) and they both fell in love with the same girl (Elyse).
We picked up some produce and machine guns at Denios Farmer's Market.
