10: We went backpacking to the Sisters Wilderness. Marguerite decided that her idea of a vacation was more along the line of floating in the pool and drinking gin & tonic. Hard to imagine...

12: Ben moved into double figures and Gary trundled off to school with his saxophone | Elizabeth was forced to give Ben a noogie | Uncle Doug & Aunt Paula cooked for us - always a treat | Rod caught a fish in Alabama with the brothers
13: Halloween: Gary grew a beard, Ben was Mr. Money Bags | and several pumpkins met their demise. Michael helped out
14: Halloween was fun: we had a big party with a bunch of friends and their kids. But Halloween was soon over... | ...and before we knew it, it was time for Thanksgiving. Just the five of us this time
15: Triathlons... Elizabeth beat Gary swimming, but they are friends in the end.
16: The 2001 Hood to Coast Relay Team. Marguerite and Donna McClain "volunteered." We had a party at the house and Rod ran the fastest he has ever run.

We snapped a bunch of pictures thinking "no way, we will never catch that guy on the wing." At home, Rod couldn't sleep - 2:00 A.M. "I'll look at our pictures." "Nothing, nothing, nothing... What's this?" Our "hummingbird" turned out to be a moth - caught in mid flight!
