32: September 13, 2009. A date that will be with us forever. We had been clearing trees around the house all weekend. Sunday night, we are done. Brad and Bob start the fire. Before anyone could have blinked to help prevent it, Brad was on fire! He was life flighted to Hennipen County Memorial Hospital to the burn unit. We were told if he makes it through the first 48 hours he will be spending at least 6 - 8 weeks in the unit. Little did they know God had a different plan! He spent 2 weeks in the unit and then came home. God's miracle was witnessed by many. Thank you Lord for saving my husband, a loving father, that September day!
33: Bill and Pam opened up their house for all of us to stay during the two weeks. Every night we poured over all the loving notes posted on caring bridge. There were people praying all over the world. Back in Spirit Lake the whole community came together and did a Homecoming Tailgate fundraiser for BT! Never knew how many people truly loved and cared for us until that day! Have to think about that next time we feel all alone. Fran and Lauren stayed with Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Mark. Friday, the day Brad got taken out of his coma they came up to the cities to see me. Matt and Rachel came with the boys as well. We weren't letting anyone see Brad since infection is a big fear in burn patients. The girls knew their dad was in the hospital but that was about the extent. Fran had a rough time at the hotel because she thought she was going to see her dad. The hotel had an outstanding water park where we were able to get our minds off of the present. Just for the moment. Again thank you Lord for the love and support we have! | September 13, 2009
